So has anyone on the Republican side announced they are going to run against Trump yet other Bill Weld?

Glad the libertarian is running on the GOP ticket so he stands a better chance of getting nominated. Although I have to wonder who will be running for the Libertarian party now.

Bill Weld is actually a fairly intelligent and decent human being with a highly professional temperament and a healthy grasp on reality.

As such, I expect him to poll at about 1% in the Republican Party.

Sadly, you are probably correct

This makes far more sense in light of @Fawlty's ridiculous claims of late. I don't think it's all that funny, but to me, it's a weird kind of thing for people to take seriously. I mean, as if there aren't a bunch of you all working together under a proper hierarchy to keep this place running; you're going to act on the say so of some pleb. Shows a lack of respect, IMO.

Anyway, thanks for doing a thankless job.
Servility is a turn-off.

So the issue here is more the idea that infractions or bans are a matter of just who wants them to occur vs if that poster is violating rules or not. I was closing any narrative (whether intentional or not) about it being the first one cause that isn’t how it works. Obviously, any poster can notice rules being violated and bring it to the attention of staff. There is even a button to report. That poster doesn’t however have some extra leeway or say in what will happen. Staff decides that by trying to make a call based on the rules set in place, pst precedence, etc.

If someone violates the rules on the site, they are solely responsible for their infractions or ban. It isn’t some game of whether you have a buddy or enemy in the staff.

Preaching to the choir, man. I get that.

True or false:
Politicians trying to appeal to moderate/undecided voters is a pointless cause in modern politics; The meta-game is now about getting people to show up (or conversely, prevent/dissuade them from participating) on election day.

Truth......

And it's painful.

You try to appeal to moderate people/undecided you chase away your own base sometimes.

I think undecided anymore just means undecided to actually vote.

Full agree. Swing voters represent a very small number of voters vs the number of voters who would vote for you if you could just get their asses to the polling booth
