War Room Lounge V32: Justice for Prokofievian!!

But this one between wai and prok wasn't even a matter of cold feet; he still thought he would win. That's where I think it was not honorable or gentlemanly conduct.

wtf? I thought I would still win? Then why did I not finalize the bet?

I love betting. When I see an opportunity to pounce, I take it. I deliberately did not finalize that bet as I reconsidered and saw it was very risky.

Maybe when you post a video you should pick one where the makers have the mental capacity to correctly spell the word, "strong".
Welcome back. Did you ever get help for your...problem?

This all started because the guy out of nowhere came in here crowing about a bet he hasn't won and insinuating I would Welch which caused his own indiscretions to be brought to light.

Just like how people who cheat on their significant others are always the most paranoid about being cheated on

Lord only knows what insecurity he's revealing about himself with the repeated "fake Indian" post

Democrats are still for strong borders. We've just seen Republicans attempt to frame the current status quo as "open borders" in an attempt to mislead voters.
Although I disagree with this, that's not the interesting bit that I (and I suspect, most viewers) drew from the video. For example,

Dianne Feinstein:

"The day when America will be the welfare system for Mexico is gone. We simply can't afford it. I think you've seen the figures from state and local governments as to what the cost is. It's over $2 billion."

"I think we should enforce our borders. To have a situation where 40% of the babies born on Medicaid in CA today are born of illegal immigrants creates a very real problem for the state. To have 17% of our prison population at a cost of $300 million a year be illegal immigrants who come here and commit felonies? That's not what this nation is all about."

========

We don't hear Dianne Feinstein talk like this anymore.

The negotiation and acceptance of the bet with @Prokofievian occurred in War Room Lounge V23, outside of the purview of the official bet thread.

I believe you used this fact to "freeroll" @Prokofievian in that you would have held him to the terms of the bet had you "won," but insist, upon losing, that there was no bet.

Russians don't use the Roman alphabet. Cut them some slack. This fake Dianne Feinstein video was really well-doctored.

If that's true, why have I not freerolled the multiple anti-Trump nutjobs who nearly bet with me but pulled out at the last minute before confirmation?

I can't answer why a robber doesn't steal from every house he enters.

You love betting till you lose then leave the forum for the duration of the loss sanctions.

Pink belt or GTFO

@Jack V Savage

Why is Pete Buttigieg getting so much MSM airtime? I thought he was just a mayor and is polling at 0%?

I'm not aware, but I'd hope not. I think this is another example of changing facts (the long-running net decline in illegal immigration) and new evidence (for example, the problems with Borjas' work on the Mariel Boatlift and the results of other studies) have caused a shift. But there's no actual support for open borders, and all immigration reform measures that we've seen from Democrats have included border-strengthening provisions.

I haven't noticed him getting much. If you have a study showing that he has, I'd be interested in seeing it. I agree that he's an extreme longshot.

1) Why do you assume automatically that Feinstein's shift is primarily due to changing facts rather than to political expediency?

2) Is it actually true that the percentage of Medicaid babies born to illegal immigrants has declined significantly since Feinstein made that statement?

Not "a study". I listened to a long interview with him on NPR a couple weeks ago and now I see that he was interviewed today on MSNBC. Seems like a lot of exposure for the mayor of a city of 100,000.

1) Because it would seem reasonable that someone would shift. And she's in a totally safe district so I doubt she'd feel much pressure related to political expediency. Plus, she's not really like that. You know, she owes a lot of her political success to being disliked by pretty much everyone around here. It basically made her the perfect person to come in after White murdered Moscone and Milk, as she was not seen as being part of or accepted by either the left or right, which kind of calmed everyone down.

2) I don't have the numbers handy on that, but I'd suspect so.

I'd guess that that's pretty normal, though. Don't know. Doesn't strike me as odd.

OK, what the fuck, Millennials? I just caught about 10 minutes of this show called "Ridiculousness", another mindless Youtube clip show. Never mind that it's just plain brainless, its young host (who is male, white, and dressed head to toe in DC gear, for those who care), finds way way too many excuses to use the word bitch, especially when the subject of the video is female. To top it off, the first segment of the next show that came on while I was typing this was people deliberately causing accidents on the road, with everyone laughing along. Examples included SUV's driving cars off the road and trucks with stuff hanging off the back of them knocking people on bicycles to the ground.

What the fuck, Millennials? Is there anyone out there who can explain to me how this is on TV when supposedly only 2 people on Twitter need to complain to constitute leftist outrage?

It’s a dumb show. It is just a more modern Americans Most Funny Home videos show however.
