@Khabib Khanate He's a good interview with Naguib as well. If you haven't watched Tariq Ali before, it may take a little getting past his slight pretentiousness and his remarkable lack of charm.

Interesting interview, really insightful. Kind of sad though, he talks about how the level of repression by El-Sisi is not sustainable and how Egypt and its allies are unstable in the region and somethings gotta give. But this is pre-Trump and as we know Trump came in and propped up these guys as much as he could so he gave these regimes a bit more steam. But its not just Trump to be fair, as he points out most Western leaders took to Sisi. And the point he makes about the left is pretty significant too, about how they're too willing to ally with the junta against the Islamists. Its part of the failure of the secular left int he region, partly why its hard for them to build mass movements like the ones the Islamists can.

That said and despite what I said earlier about the MB they were way too conservative in their approach and bungled everything. Funny to see him say that they were not radical enough given their image globally but its true. While everyone saw the revolution as a special moment to change the playing field entirely, they simply saw it as a way to make a power play under the rules of the old game. That's why I say they should avoid party politics generally, just stick to opposition politics like mass protests and strikes with very specific agendas that can allow for the building of umbrella coalitions. Stuff like protests against emergency laws and neoliberal reforms and so on.

I think that kind of change in the MB is possible. They tried their old conservative approach and what did it get them? In the end it lead to vicious repression and most of their senior and mid level leaders are imprisoned, exiled, and otherwise brutally repressed. Sameh makes a point about how the MB even protected the physical structures of the regime and I've read a bit about that too. I remember reading a quote from a young MB who was frustrated with the leadership, pointing out that while the regime slaughters youth protestors they're more worried about youth protestors burning police cars. The young members of the MB learned this lesson.

And a full beard. No one should have only a mustache

Very few people can pull off a mustache alone.

There is a streamer who does Titanfall 2, Halo, and Ghostrunner speedruns that I like watching, but he is going for the whole Portland Hipster aesthetic and grew a garbage mustache. It really rips at my nerves whenever he plays with it, like he knows it doesn't belong there.

Anyone here experience trouble breathing / snoring at night after taking some damage to their nose?

Early this year someone landed a pretty hard knee to my nose when we were sparring and I definitely heard lots of crunching when it happened.

Now recently I find I have trouble breathing at night after I lie down and apparently I now snore all the time and it is really affecting my sleep quality. Think I'll need to get some surgery to fix this... sigh....

That sucks big time, bro. I only snore if I'm flat on my back.

@Falsedawn

I don't know why it didn't occur to me last night but Oskar Blues has a brewery in Austin which means we can drink super fresh Dale's and eat vegan barbecue at the same time

Yeah, it really does.

I used to be able to sleep soundly through the night and now I wake up all the time because I'm snoring or having trouble breathing. Almost like I get some anxiety about at 4am and cant fall back asleep.

I used to be the best sleeper till I got Rich Franklined. :(

Well it's been kind of hard to get an appointment that's not an emergency lately due to covid, especially since I haven't gotten around to finding a family doctor yet and walk-in clinics suck for this kinda thing.
