One scenario for Republicans after the election and on into the next four years: Trump eats the Republican Party by splitting it between his chud base and the normies, and this makes it very hard in some places for a Republican candidate to draw support from voters. His pushing and screaming and crying is nudging the environment toward a split right now. Will that continue to be effective? You have people like Mitch who are smart enough to see it coming, and who set up camp in the middle between rationality and Trumpism, but also turds like Cruz and Lindsey who are clinging to the last crumb of power. It's an interesting dynamic. I think as usual, Republicans will hold their coalition together, but I also think Trump could destroy it.
