I probably don’t know either tbh. I think it’s playing into a face/heel role just like how pro wrestling does or essentially, trolling.

Googled it
“in professional wrestling) the fact or convention of presenting staged performances as genuine or authentic”

So...you mean like conservatives playing up to the abrasive faux patriot rube persona? And representing their opposition to liberals as more real than it is?

I don't care what kayfabe actually means. Just trying to understand your concern.

It's about how they maintain a facade they do not deviate from about being true patriots, financial and social conservatives, defenders of the constitution, defenders of law and order, and on and on, while everyone knows from their actions that they don't believe any of it in the same manner as everyone knows no matter how much a wrestler is committed to his bit that he's faking. The idea of kayfabe is you carry on pretending like no one knows you're just playing a role even as everyone knows you're just playing a role but in the case of American conservatives it's more like they have no clue how fake those people are but even if they did they could not care less as long as they believe it benefits them.

Someone in here I can't recall ATM educated me on kayfabe so I'm sure whomever it is could give you a better answer, mind you.

I don’t really know. The strongest example of kayfabe in politics would be what Donald trump does in purposely saying things that gets people worked up one way or another. I could be completely off in the way I use it.

He's one of the more anti-social pro wrestlers who is probably too smart for his own good. That's why he always come off as a prick - he can't interact with people like Hogan or Flair.

It's because he's such a mark. Like the dude has a framed picture of himself above the fireplace in his living room.
