And pinned the undefeated Tatanka with one finger.
JR talked about him in his first book. He had an SS tattoo close to his ankle and they made him wear longer boots to cover it up and Borga kept asking them why he had to cover it up.

I...don't know how to respond to that.

It's because he's such a mark. Like the dude has a framed picture of himself above the fireplace in his living room.
When you grow up in a pro wrestling household, start from your father/family's own pro wrestling company and go from #1 in Canada to #1 in the world, literally taking the mantle from HULK HOGAN - yeah, I'm sure he had an overachiever complex. Who cares, Bret Hart is arguably the best technical wrestler of all time.

All that matters is he was never a draw. Doesn't matter how many 6* matches he had in the Tokyo Dome, pal.

He drew better than Diesel. They even let HBK lose at the big event just to have Hart take the title back. Infact, Hart's run drew more than both Diesel and HBK combined. It wasn't until Austin that we had a true money maker.

That's actually not true. They lost more money when Bret was champ than Diesel. In fact, they made a profit in FY95 despite the narrative that's out there.

FY94: $4,431,000 loss
FY95: $3,319,000 profit

That didn't have anything to do with the steroid scandal and court case, right?

Sort of random thought of the day: So, I assume most of you remember Sargon of Akad. God knows what's happened to him, last I recall he was starting up some political party with Count Dankula, but it's kind of funny when someone picks some handle of some quasi-obscure historical politician, philosopher or other kind of historical figure because it kind of sets you up to think "ok, this person is well read and probably has interesting things to say", yet it doesn't take long to figure out they are total morons.

Like really dumb. Like ---> <{1-1}> level dumb.

Happens here in the war room too.

Okay, I'm pretty sure @The Diplomat is one of Bret Hart's kids.
Average attendance was also worse with Bret as champ.

Well, atleast one of us has to mark for the Canadian icon.

94 to 95 = 1,163,259
95 to 96 = 931,954

But this is all based on motivation. All in all, wrestling was doing better year by year until the peak.
