Us Native Americans have some damn tasty food, too, but nobody out there knows about it.
Literally the absolute best salmon on planet Earth gets cooked by old Native people here in the PNW, for example. Bison tongue? Mmmmm mm. Or the all time GOAT, fry bread with wojapi.

Tfti....

I agree to an extent, but it’s a melting pot now. There are influences from all over Asia, Oceania and America in Hawaiian food by now.

Yes, my favorites are the traditional Hawaiian food, like lomi salmon, poke, kalua pig and lau lau, but there’s also the whole mixed plate food culture that incorporates so much more. And we should include it in Hawaiian food as Hawaii is so multicultural now.

Poke is something I tried there for the first time and I can find it here. Get it every chance I get.

Seriously guys you haven't had good salmon until a 90 year old Native lady pin roasts it around a fire pit
Would love to try tbh. Native Americans are in specific areas of the country in terms of cultural NA.

edit: shit even lomi salmon has European influence, the tomatoes came from Europe lmao
I just like giving credit where it's due, ya feel

''Bro, American food is the best.''

What's so good about it?

''Bro, sounds like you haven't had the Korean food in San Francisco yet. Feel bad for you bro.''

Sounds like your friends are idiots tbh.... and if they are from NYC then that is the largest concentration of idiots we have here...

You know, people really do fucking suck at cooking salmon. What the hell is with that. I'm no food snob by any means, and I didn't realize until later in life just how much badly cooked salmon is out there.

That’s why I just eat it raw tbh, like fish is supposed to be eaten

Another excellent Native food: pit roasted camas bulbs. I also had some corn done this way once and it was super fuckin delicious.
