But their fascination with young girls is just not ok. It's complicated enough that you can't nail it down as straight up shit, but it's also weird enough to raise some eyebrows on the most charitable people. I'm talking about stuff like "my waifu looks like an 8 year old girl but she's actually a 5 thousand years old avatar from an outer dimension so it's really ok".

I've mentioned it a few times before. My dad ran a recording studio, did ADR for movies and TV shows and then went into anime. We have tons of pictures with celebrities, like Jim Carrey, Matthew Broderick, Anthony Hopkins, etc.

I just never stuck with it. I've always used voice changes for comedic effect, but it worked in that avenue.

Are you ignoring the existence of parliamentary democracy? We currently have a pretty nearly ideal situation in Canada. While the Conservative party are effectively Republican-light, and thus ought to be a less appealing choice for being wishy washy in comparison, they have held power often as a check on the unfulfilled promises of the Liberal party. We have a minority government now and the leader of the third place party was on TV today explaining just how the situation can work out for Canadians. If the Liberals don't keep the promises that make the New Democrats happy, they can bring down the government and force an election. Trudeau and the Liberals also have the happy situation of being accused of spending too much money by the Conservatives while being accused of spending too little by the New Democrats, while also being held somewhat to account in the process of walking down the middle. Everyone has someone to complain about and in the process of preventing an election call, the party in power cooperates to get generally acceptable things accomplished.

Trudeau himself is problematic, but minority governments everywhere have shown they're the best way to get shit done so I hope the status quo is maintained for a long time to come. Can you apply this concept to the American political system? No idea, but until you do, there's simply no point in voting 3rd party, and that is all I was saying in the first place.

Republican lite is actually a bit too harsh of a description of our conservative party. They are a right leaning centrist party, just as the liberals are a left leaning centrist party.

You should try the Ghost in the Shell movie and series, that's a good one for people who don't normally like anime. No cute girls and high school clubs or any gay shit like that, just near future sci-fi and spec ops shit.
