I would definitely not call anything Buk said "stolen valor."

He exaggerated some stuff about his abilities/toughness to sound badass (and caught a merciless ribbing for it that probably included calling it "stolen valor"), but he never claimed he was something or part of some group that he wasn't.

Well if he told you he was a SEAL, that's pretty fucked. The other rumored stolen valor accusations against him that I have seen were not true. He never told me that he was, and we talked about this kind of thing a lot at one of the old offshoots.

Ol buk invited me out many times to tailgate with him before Husky games. Not sure if I'm happy or sad that I never took him up on the offer.
Sometimes buk was awesome and seemed like a guy I could hang with. Other times he was like a completely different person.
Probably similar to myself in some ways.
