@Limbo Pete and @Falsedawn

Is there a reason that people (read: idiots) think the Civil Rights movement of the 60s was some kumbaya super peaceful thing where black people filled out all the right paperwork to gather and protest, and never blocked roads. And more importantly, do they truly believe that there was no rioting and looting during that time, that it was all some super peaceful protest?
I know you're not asking me but it's probably both sometimes. They chose to ignore the riots etc, and focus on the peaceful aspect. I think it's obvious why, so they can pretend they're in favor of civil rights but they just can't stand the protests. If it's not necessary to protest/riot, then they have leverage to shame people or put forward the narrative that today's protests really aren't about civil rights.

I guess it is just amazing to me that it is the exact same arguments that were made 50-60 years ago, and yet somehow they think they would have been on the right side of history back then.

It's not an argument I would use, but sometimes I'm thinking "If we could teleport people from now to the start of the Third Reich, who would be volunteering to join the SS?" and I'm like yep. You know who!

I assume you get spontaneous boners then. Sounds like Trots got you right
It's awful. I don't even feel horny. I'm going to keep a logbook and show it to my doctor, she'll be like "let me introduce you to a friend of mine ;)" nah she'll probably tell me it's hormonal/stress.

Oh it is super easy to tell who would be on what side of history. They don't really try and hide it.

I thought your current guy looks much more “boy next door” than this one. This guy has a more racy look.

I have not seen that thread. I rarely venture out of these threads anymore.

Lots of Asian and Polynesian gay people out here, and it seems like most are “out” but I wouldn’t know for sure of course.

edit: idk want “non-ano” means tbh. Fill me in? (No that’s not a double entendres)

Non-Anorexic.

An Archetypal Ano Twink.

So, upset that the Russians didn't create a bear cavalry at some point.

@Kafir-kun You might dig this.

Article about the queer guerrillas that fought against ISIS. One thing I've been curious about learning are all the small radical factions inside Syria of every type you can imagine. It really is the second Spanish Civil War as far as intellectual leftists attempting to gain autonomy over themselves.

The International Freedom Battalion is directly modeled after the International Brigades utilized in the Spanish Civil War. Absolutely fascinating stuff.
Interesting read and interesting site. I actually thought of you yesterday while listening to this song

The Irish resistance fascinated me from the moment I heard of it. I remember being somewhat young when I first heard about it and I could hardly believe it.

"You're telling me that into the 90s white people were waging an insurgency against other white people? And in the UK of all places?!"

Even as a young person I had the sense that that type of stuff happened in "shithole" countries, not one of the most powerful and developed countries on earth. I know the IRA was full of its share of pieces of shit and bastards but idk, I'm always sympathetic to resistance movements and it saddens me that while virtually every other nation under the heel of the British were able to escape the Irish are still stuck and see their own language disappearing before their eyes(or ears I guess). Almost brings a tear to my eye and I have no connection to that culture nor am I well read on the conflict at all. I really want to find a book or two that are good, definitive overviews of the Irish resistance both historically and specifically on The Troubles(what a cool name, reminds me of La Violencia) but as I told JVS sometimes I window shop books too much and I have not maintained a reading habit for too long. This pandemic only made it worse despite my having far more time to myself.

Also the fact that Sinead O'Connor converted to Islam tickles my soul in a very special way.

Hughes, who I really like as a fighter, is the best example of a bully I can think of. He talked down to Georges because he could and he despises nice guys. Then Georges completely embarrassed him in the third fight and it just ate at him that this nice guy that he doesn't respect owns that ass.
You should do the war room posters as their cartoon counterparts.

Saw a recent video of Bernie where he looked kinda fresh doe, with a healthy tan too, Bernie 2024? <5>

I had to google Jason Seaver lmao. Idk why I’m that guy but ok. I’d love to be a psychiatrist. I think.
Funny that the actor who played him is Canadian, while the actor who played "me" is Cuban. Seems like it ought to be the other way around. But then I've never watched the US version of the Office so I have no idea what that character is like.

How much land do you estimate would be required to sustain one person in a low-tech environment of reasonable resources (say, a temperate forest)? Say you had good basic tools and knowledge and a sufficient water source. You need an area large enough for edible plants, firewood, small game and insects, with occasional larger game, and for all of that to be sustainable. I bet it's larger than 10 acres on average. Maybe like 40.

Hughes was one of my favorites getting into the sport but yeah everything I've heard of him makes him out to be an asshole and a bully. I think it was Sean McCorkle who went through his autobiography and summarized it in a thread on here and he basically brags about being a massive cunt. Hates attention from fans(says he regrets giving one guy a photo), shit on other fighters(trashed Chuck for giving attention to fans, shit on Tim Sylvia and Lesnar), treated his wife like trash(took her out to a shitty diner for their "honeymoon", boned her right her after her boob job when she was still on the effects of the sedatives and reopened her scars). If you wrote a character that shitty people wouldn't believe it.

As a fighter he was awesome though, one of my favorite grapplers of all time. I think he's one of the guys from the early eras who had the talent to hold his own in the modern era had he been born like ten years later. Though he'd be a LW by today's standards, maybe even a FW. Guy was listed as 5'9 but was probably shorter, would be dwarfed by Usman and even Masvidal.
