The average temperate forest is tougher than it should be. You have lots of shelter, and you can easily make a fire, lots of fresh water. The big challenge is that you don't have any calorie dense plants. You'd need to find a way to regularly make pretty decent sized kills and preserve them or you'd starve to death. A stream with lots of fish in it would go a long way.

I picked it because that's what I'm familiar with. You would have to work pretty hard for plants but can find berries, onions, mushrooms in a couple of seasons, and all kinds of little things, especially if you're under 2k feet elevation. I would call it "tough but fair" for survival ecosystems. Less variance and no big luxuries other than fish. I would definitely say some access to fish is in the mix, though that may be the biggest source of variance from place to place.

Something I personally witnessed at UFC 201: Early in the show, a guy asks Hughes for an autograph or photo. He's like, "I'm busy, but I'll get you back later." At the time, the area was pretty much empty, and I was thinking, "that guy's never going to see Hughes again." Seems like I'm right as the crowd fills up, and guys aren't just walking around anymore. But, sure enough, he comes back, politely pushes through people, like he has something to do. Gets to the guy and signs and autograph and takes a picture with him. Not a big deal, but a nice thing he did that goes against his reputation.

I have no idea on this stuff other than antidotal, but I thought you would need a lot of room to find all those berries and bunnies, and areas would get emptied out pretty fast. A river with a ton of fish moving downstream would be clutch (there’s that word) though. All you would need is your secret fishing spot!!!!

Is there a reason that people (read: idiots) think the Civil Rights movement of the 60s was some kumbaya super peaceful thing where black people filled out all the right paperwork to gather and protest, and never blocked roads. And more importantly, do they truly believe that there was no rioting and looting during that time, that it was all some super peaceful protest?

People (see: idiots) have been whitewashing MLK since the day he died. That's why every MLK day I spend the day posting his radical shit and roasting the stupid ass dream speech. Were he alive, he'd be raising hell in the streets just as hard, if not harder than some of the protesters.

It's not very well known, but MLK was leading a campaign for reparations before his death. How bootlickers think he'd be closer to them than the people mimicking his tactics to the letter is beyond me.

Finally some headway after that 5lbs drop. I had maintained that weight for the past three weeks despite feeling like my cardio was going back up and some unused muscles were getting less sore each time I rolled. This week I finally have a 7lb average drop so it’s starting to move again. I think it should get easier from this point as it felt like those three weeks were my body trying to keep the weight on regardless of what I ate. Next weekend should be telling.

It's about controlling the need-for-change narrative in such a way that preserves the power relationship
A minority should "ask for permission" from those with more privilege
And, since "they" aren't demanding change in acceptable ways, it can be dismissed
