@LazaRRus Is it true that you have like 40 choices for power in Houston? Just going through this thread on another forum.

We aren't experiencing any problems but obviously a lot of others are. It seems like most of it is getting worked out anyways. Those struggling aren't going to get have to pay those insane bills.

I will say that they have to get this figured out but they still haven't figured out our flooding problems so who knows

We did this poll awhile back. Probably worth two rounds of it though.

yeah then you sear it off in a nice red hot skillet to get some textured crust on it.

Yep. Or the grill. Perhaps one of these.

I agree with her that one advantage, compared to the skillet, is it doesn't fill the house with smoke. So the method depends on my mood. One place this shines is when smoking chicken and crisping up the skin at the end.

I just kinda want to talk about my life. Try to put some things in perspective and hopefully learn some new coping skills and tricks. I'm not very good at relaxing. I have days where I have a very hard time even leaving my room sometimes. I deal as best as I can but it's becoming painfully obvious to me that there's some holes in my game.
I don't know if this will help but just in case, I think you ought to know that long term health-wise, it's far more important to be fit than thin. FWIW, my unsolicited advice to you is to forget about controlling your weight and instead commit to raising your fitness/activity level on a very gradual basis, and regardless every little bit helps. Self-recrimination is not the way to go. A therapist can help with CBT to overcome negative self-image issues to open the door to significant change in your circumstances; if you have the option to give that a try I think it's a great idea.

Some jagoff you don't know, collecting a paycheck to listen, has far less to offer than your wife, friends, and sense of self-respect. But hey, whatever works. In the end only you can solve your own issues, but where you take inspiration from who knows.
Now, are you going to claim you're just joking around before respond to this comment?

Valid point and everyone's taste varies. I will say we get some really good cuts of meat from both the butcher here in the Woodlands and HEB that can be considered restaurant quality.
Didn’t know you were in Woodlands. I used to go down and play in the Insperity pro-am with my buddy every year when they were one of his vendors. Also hit all the courses in the area, great spot for golf.
One of my all time favorite steak houses was there but it closed. Not Kirby’s... a common guy’s name. Bob’s maybe? Had a great cigar room. Could not believe it was closed last time I was there.

I use it all the time for steaks now. I just need to get one of those torches because searing in the pan afterwards is less than optimal, imo.

Because of the smoke?

I can confirm the Searzall doesn't leave a gas flavor.

Nice. Yeah Bob's is gone and it was a solid spot. Mostly Morton's and Killens now. Trulucks is still here and Hudson Hubble, Black Walnut are quality.

Well if you ever make it down here we can certainly swing the sticks. Sounds like you would kick my ass so maybe we do a scramble and you're part of my team lol.

I'm just more of a T-bone guy. I've had some beautiful rib eyes, don't get me wrong. You have to remember too, you are eating 500 dollar steaks. The rest of us clowns are putting down 75 dollar tops. Your idea of a good steak will be wildly different than us.
I don't agree with "us" being in that last sentence. The locally sourced, small farm, humanely raised, beef cattle I get to eat of here are top notch no matter the price. And you don't need to be wealthy to enjoy wagyu in a shabu shabu either although it's not super cheap. Just go to Japan.

Consider the marbling @LazaRRus was referring to. Look closely at that shit. Now I grant, you're not sitting down to a 12 oz portion of this stuff, but no one sane would need to. Even in these small strips, it's rich and filling. It's really fucking amazing and it doesn't cost anywhere close to $500. You can buy the ingredients in grocery stores over there.

And check out this selfish prick,
Legendary wagyu beef raised by P.E.I. veterinarian

LOL j/k I'm pretty jealous.

Had some A5 wagyu at a high-end joint in LA. A block of it was shared by the table. Put my bone-in ribeye to shame. Had to eat a third of it before my taste buds recalibrated.
