Lmao, dude its ingrained in our culture. The joke in your story is about questionable sexuality with you and your buddies looking at playgirl. It is basically like telling a joke about race. The joke is that there is something wrong with being a homosexual.

Sure dude, I have made questionable jokes in the past. Some of the shit i have said in the past im ashamed of, it is what it is. I would just hope as we all get older we can see that jokes arent always just jokes. Some of the shit we say can be unintentionally harmful or insulting to others.

The context of a joke about homosexuals is that being a homosexual is wrong or makes one less than a straight person. Its the same concept as a racist joke.

No. The joke was the randomness of it. It was a completely out of left field comment. Please stop. No one is doing what you claim. Not even sketch. Sure he’s a try hard edgelord who needs validation online because he’s friendless but he wasn’t doing what you claim.

I get it. But that's the nature of ribbing or insulting someone. You call someone stupid you're saying being stupid is bad. You laugh at someone for being from Texas you're saying being from TX is bad. Make fun of their height, nose size, hair color, etc., and someone with similar features can take it as an insult.

I'm not sure that singling out groups, classes, or characteristics for special protections accomplishes much.

Context of the insult is important. If you are attacking someones insecurities it is probably not just in jest. I mean that why you acknowledged the fact that those would be insults.

Ribbing a close friend about shit is different than calling out a stranger for their fucked up nose for example. The dynamics between a close friend and a stranger are completely different. That would be a personal insult as opposed to using something like homosexuality as the insult, which is a much broader base of people.

Texas , Florida, and Raiders fans will always be fair game though.
