Minimum Dems want to reopen the government is extending the ACA subsidies which is roughly 35 billion per year.

The dems might be able to work with Trump and a few others on the ACA subsidies. I think that is something Trump wouldn't mind giving involved with , one of his most major failures is health insurance. If you can't replace what's already there with something better then at least help the people.

I think what’s holding them back now is wanting to make sure there’s enough popular support for it, and probably they want to feel sure that they’ve rigged enough maps that they don’t have to worry about losing power after midterms. They don’t want Dems getting power and wielding the same weapon.

Can I ask an honest question though? If you were member of Congress, would you vote for the republicans’ bill as it stands now, knowing it’s going to jack up healthcare prices for low and middle income people (those are the ACA’s main demographic)?
I hate government shutdowns, but I couldn’t vote for that. I have to tell you, it’s very frustrating as a liberal to hear people accuse Dems of abandoning the working/middle class, and then when we try and stick up for them, people shit on that too. We’re damned if we do, damned if we don’t.

Yea I get it you guys are in a hard place with it all. I think most of the blame is being place on dems from what I seen , noble cause or not. I would vote to keep the gov open because I guess 2 wrong don’t make a right ? Have the dems drafted resolutions for ACA before this to fix the issue ? Or has it been just last minute effort to fix it ? Like I said ok for the betterment of the people and don’t mind spending money on healthcare but not through this way.
