Yuck
DIDNice post.
But one correction. I never actually said that the Wachowski's are doing what they're doing "only for themselves," what I said--earlier on in the thread--is that I'm not convinced at this point that it's a cause that actually should be promoted. They're doing very strange things to their bodies and trying to completely subvert nature's decisions, and saying that it's okay for people to do this, and I'm just not sure that's true. But I will say this: Regardless of whether this is a good thing or not, which ultimately is a matter of opinion when we really get down to it, I'll grant that intention plays a role: If they genuinely believe that what they are doing is right and good, and that by making this choice and being so public about it they are intending to help others, then perhaps in some sense it is heroic. Heroic-by-intention, I'd say.
But yeah, I'm still not sure we should be championing this shit. Consider this scenario: A girl who is a cutter starts posting videos on YouTube, slashing her fucking arms up and saying how she's trying to make people realize that it's a normal and acceptable behavior, and that cutters should be accepted just for who they are. Would you call her courageous and heroic? No, you'd say, "We need to get this bitch to a doctor and so we can fix this shit."
but Ziggy was gay and Bowie was bi...Yuck
I dunno, man. I'm not sure if it's an "agenda" so much as a few high-profile people did it and opened the floodgates for everyone else who has had similar thoughts.
Let me ask you this, though. I'm just curious about your specific reasoning. You have said several times that it's fucked up but haven't given your thoughts about WHY it's fucked up. So why exactly do you think it's fucked up?

I think you mean they became Wachowski HEROES.
Mmm. . . I dunno man. For one, this is going to ratchet up the paparazzi harassment tenfold.
Beyond that, it's not like people who work in Hollywood are in some locked-away community that they never leave.
They still have to make at least occasional voyages into the wider world, and the wider world has a way of getting IN as well. You talk about public criticism like it means nothing, but it seems clear to me that people can actually be wounded pretty badly by overwhelming negative sentiment. Sure, some people are thicker skinned than others, but the simple fact is that it sucks to be treated like shit by your fellow human beings.
Why is it 99% of the people who do gender reassignment are ugly as shit to begin with? What do you expect after the transition? People fawning over you wondering why this rocking chick is single?
These are the things i wonder. I know its about how they feel and not about others. But i will say i know of 2 transgenders at a local grocery store we frequent. One, my own son is wondering why the man is wearing a wig and the other legit looks like buffalo bob with bad eyeliner and a couple tennis balls in a training bra.
To each there own. And i dont think people stare because the person lives an alternative lifestyle in some instances. I think its more so that the person looks so horribly awkward in general that they get looks.
I'm glad someone realizes this. What the FUCK is going on in Hollywood?! I mean, fuck. I'll go ahead and say it, this shit isn't courageous or heroic. I'm sorry but they're freaks. And feeble minded to jump on the "transgender is normal and awesome" train that seems to be running lately. Shit ain't normal, shit ain't cool, and shit should not be looked up to or applauded. Let alone called fucking "heroic." For fucks sake people, wake up. This shit is crazy.
It's hard to explain bro. I see it as (tin foil hat on) part of the agenda to feminize modern american men. First it was the metro sexual stuff. Then we had gay propaganda pushed on us. Now it's transexualism. My bullshit detector is a finely honed instrument at this point, and this whole push for this and everything like it reeks of bullshit and propaganda. They're trying to feminize us bro. And I'll tell you this as well, the recent feminism push is related to that as well, imo. They'll make out in movies/tv/songs/whatever popular media, that women are the boss and men just have to go along with whatever the wife/gf says. You can already see that everywhere. Being a strong male is almost frowned upon at this point.
Why are they pushing the feminization agenda? Imo it's to weaken us. Our society and as a by product, our country as a whole. Call it a conspiracy if you guys want to but that is truly what I see happening. If you look at most modern media or even go walk around a fucking mall, with that perspective, you'll probably notice it too. You'd have to. Modern men being womanized. I just don't like it. Doesn't make me a hater or anything, though.
Just think about this: You know they call the WWII era people the "greatest generation?" Well they called them that for a reason. Back then men were fucking men, and they did what they had to do, like men. Even the women back then had to man up, get jobs at fucking steel factories, and do their part. America wouldn't have gotten through that shit if we had a bunch of pansy ass clowns like they're trying to turn us into now. Imagine what the greatest generation would think of modern young people today if they had a look at 'em. It's embarrassing to think about.

Yeah it's rare but rare doesn't mean impossible or never seen in a world that has billions of people on it. People look at it like "well I'm not like that, anyone that is, is abnormal. Well yeah, no shit lol. Not everyone is going to fall square in the middle of normal on the spectrum of life. That means they don't get to live and we gotta treat them like freaks? That doesn't follow for me, it shows just an astounding and almost pathological lack of empathy for others.I saw a documentary on Showtime where all three daughters, in Australia maybe, were born with both male and female genitals and had the male ones surgically removed as kids. One of them had a teacher who also had the same thing.
