If blaydes can get 15td on Volkov I think Jailton will be ok.I think this might be a hard fight for Jailton. Jailton's grappling isn't all that and Volkov has some serviceable BJJ. I think Volkov might be a black belt now. The gap between both men in standup is much wider than on the ground.
But winning number one contender battles vs Tai Tuvasia and Sergey Spivak are what really makes him stand out as deserving of more title shotsThis is Gane's 3rd title fight within 6 fights, while having never been champ. So Gane averages a title shot every other fight lol
It's MMAmath but you have to also consider Jailton was ragdolling Blaydes a large portion of that fight. If blaydes can get 15td on Volkov I think Jailton will be ok.
I know Volkov worked a bit on wrestling but Jailton is far better than blaydes on shooting.
Which is mostly about the shallowness of the HW division. First shot was earned, the second he was the best choice whether or not it was earned, and the third should go to Almeida, but if not him then Gane's the best of a bunch of bad choices given that rematches of one-sided beatdowns need even more justification than giving Gane another shot. This is Gane's 3rd title fight within 6 fights, while having never been champ. Very interesting point given Ngannou literally had a torn knee when he exposed Gane's amateur grappling.I like it. Gane is one of 2 names that Tom hasn't faced, so it's not really a title shot for him, but Aspinall to clear division. Almeida stays busy and proves he can earn a titleshot or Volkov is 1 fight off of a titleshot. Actually good UFC matchmaking.
I'm sorry but Gane was horribly injured that fight and still had more control time than Volkov in 2/3 rounds. It's not like it was a domination by Volkov. When Gane fought him healthy he dominated the fight.

No because Ngannou's knees have been rekt since before Gane fight and still are.Very interesting point given Ngannou literally had a torn knee when he exposed Gane's amateur grappling.
Do we get to use the injury excuse there too??? Do we get to say healthy knees Ngannou KO's Gane brutally inside 2 rounds?
