Who else? Agree or not the two buffoons who mattered decided he deserved the win vs Volkov. Not to mention Tom already beat Volkov and this is a fresh matchup.

Everyone just needs to accept that hw aint ideal thanks to Dana and Jones running things the way they did.

I think this might be a hard fight for Jailton. Jailton's grappling isn't all that and Volkov has some serviceable BJJ. I think Volkov might be a black belt now. The gap between both men in standup is much wider than on the ground.

Hopefully Gane works on his timing for when Tom comes rushing in with his chin up. If he does not land a flush power shot right of the bat Tom takes him down and works him over.

I like it. Gane is one of 2 names that Tom hasn't faced, so it's not really a title shot for him, but Aspinall to clear division. Almeida stays busy and proves he can earn a titleshot or Volkov is 1 fight off of a titleshot. Actually good UFC matchmaking.

I'm sorry but Gane was horribly injured that fight and still had more control time than Volkov in 2/3 rounds. It's not like it was a domination by Volkov. When Gane fought him healthy he dominated the fight.

Yeah the bias on Sherdog is insane right now, with Jones hate making them devalue Gane to a can and elevate Aspinall to invincibility status.

Broken foot Gane was still taking Volkov down, but they act like Tom doing it makes this fight like Khabib vs Manhoef, but the grappling of Tom and Gane probably isn't even that huge of a crazy gap, as Tom isn't Jon Jones in terms of grappling....especially if Gane stops going for his patented shitty heel hook.

Peak irony though would be Gane finally executing his heel hook against Aspinall, who has been finished by that in the past.

I've been wanting to see that one for a while. I think Volkov has the tools to hang in the grappling with Almeida better than most would generally expect, but whether he can keep enough separation to win the fight? Who knows. Neither outcome would surprise me.

I'd like to see Volkov get a W after the judges did him wrong against Ciryl. However, I'm actually more intrigued in Almeida as a title contender and fresh match-up for Aspinall/Gane. Good fight, just leaving me a bit conflicted is all.

Gane is a clear example of the Jones hate. Not like he's the greatest wrestler/grappler, but after Jones all people talk about how a breeze blows and he falls over then he's a whitebelt on the ground. Yet he's been pretty good at keeping distance avoiding TDs considering everyone knew he was a french kickboxer since joining mma. Only Jones and Ngannou have beat him on the ground, and Ngannou fight was still 50/50 on people scoring it. Now everyone pretends it was a blowout for Ngannou and Volkov fight wasn't even close that Gane lost. He has decent TDD and grappling for HW in 2025, wouldn't pick him to defend Almeida, but he's got a shot vs everyone else.

You know what I've realized is truly hilarious? That Aspinall has managed to work a bunch of you all into frothing haters just by being good and by being the guy your hero ran from.

It's funny, plenty of the same people on this forum that keep repeating "OMGZ Jones is so much in your heads. GOAT will do what he wants. You guys can't stop talking about him!" are right there in every thread trying to trash Aspinall.

At least Jones earned some of his hate by being an asshole. The only thing Aspinall has done is wreck most of the top 10 and make Jon run scared into retirement.
