Holloway knocked Volk down twice. Volk tapped his way to an undeserving 3-2

Watch the fight again. Max has success because he goes forward, pushes the pace and gets those two great shots on Volk coming in. Then for some reason he starts sparring, backing up and doing nothing more than trying to counter with jabs, leg kicks and flying knees. Max thought he was up 2 rounds and tried to coast for the 48-47. He lost himself that fight and I don't know why Max fans aren't the angriest about it.

They win the close round but only because it was so close.
Max lost the 3rd. No judge gave it to him and he clearly took it off after thinking he had the first 2 easy. Closest round of the fight, but edged for Volk.
4 and 5 are Volks clearly. the 5th ends with Max on his back taking ground and pound. 10 more seconds and it would have been the most influential part of the fight.

Bisping is off talking about something else and doesn't comment on anything Volk lands. Max lands a jab and he says Volk is rocked. People got played by the commentators.
Competitive fight but Max gave Volk the 3rd and he took 4 and 5. The judge that gave Max the 5th is an idiot. That's the only reason it was a split.

I agree with basically everything you said; But, if you go back and watch the 3rd and 4th. The 3rd is not really that close. It’s clearly Volk’s Round. The 4th is the round that was extremely close (Imho).

How did Volk win 9 rounds against Max???

The debate tends to be who took round 3 in the rematch (all judges gave round 3 to Volk and round 5 was what caused the split decision on the cards). If you can't give Max rounds 1 & 2 then your bias has clouded your judgement.

A majority of MMA journalists gave Max the 5th in the 1st fight too and scored it 49 - 46 (48-47 was actually the majority decision but most Max fans will admit the margin was wider).

just watch the second fight muted. ALex won every round, outpointed Max in every single round. Count the punches, you will see that Max was hitting air most of the time, air jabs.

The 4th has the two leg kicks that drop Max to his knee. It's where Volk really starts to take over and Max stops advancing at all from memory. I remember seeing Max go backwards a lot in that round with a late fight back and Volk retaking the round late. I haven't rewatched it since this post thouugh and may be mixing rounds.

absolutely, and he made noise about wanting a finish before that fight too. here's to another boring fight from the worst featherweight champ of all time.

It's just the Max fights. Volk is so much shorter than him, can't reach. Against Mendes and in this Volk did a lot of damage. He can. Ortega is very hittable, stands still.

He realises he's in trouble from the leg kicks & fights the end of r2 + r3 in switch stance because his leg is farked. But he gets dominated so tries to switch back but it's not enough.

It's just a clear case of Volks plan worked to a tee and neutralised Holloway super effectively to the point his fans are all salty because he just couldn't be him.

How was it undeserving when he actually won the last 3 rounds? It was up to Holloway to stop the "tapping" but he didn’t. You know why he didn't? Because he couldn't.
