A baby tests positive in Wuhan just after birth.

"A baby in China's epidemic-hit Wuhan city has been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus just 30 hours after being born, Chinese state media reported Wednesday.

The infant is the youngest person recorded as being infected by the virus, which has killed nearly 500 people since emerging late last year.

CCTV quoted experts as saying it may be a case of "vertical transmission", referring to infections passed from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth or immediately after.

The mother had tested positive for the virus before she gave birth."

Passed on through breast milk? Proximity? Surely not through the Placenta?!?

What if humanity is a disease and the virus is simply a cure for mother earth?

As long as it’s voluntary, they are given all the info n it can be used to reduced their sentence?

sure.

Using ppl as lab animals? Not so much

If that’s the case what’s next? Organ harvesting?

This is something I will never ever be able to understand.

There are people on death row in America waiting for the final day. Why not use them as the test subject for coronavirus, ebola and so on. Don't tell me about human rights. Executing people is just as bad and they do suffer anyway. And this way we would speed up a lot of medical researches and saving money as well.

If they survive do they get to go free? Where’s the incentive?

there isn't any historical or factual argument you can make to prove that american government has not and isn't now doing all the unethical testing it wants to and it has no obligation to tell you about it, the limiting factor in medical research isn't ethics that's kinda dumb tbh, it's all about money not doing things ethically like wtf kind of super optimistic yet sadistic perspective are you sharing here lol

I have the sneaking suspicion that this was done by people trying to create a weapon, and containment was breached. Pure speculation, but that's what my gut says.

8th Amendment of the Bill of Rights - no cruel or unusual punishments. I think treating humans like lab rats falls under that.
what if these doomed prisoners were to be incentivized to volunteer? They have no leverage so the offer wouldn't be much but maybe helping family or victims family...

Holy shit...

Suspected case from a lawyer who reunited with some chinese people 7 days ago... 3 miles away from my house. Checked in a few hours ago in a hospital and was already put in isolation protocol and they are running tests. Hopefully it's nothing.
Stupid lawyer.

There were a few other cases of suspects who got isolated too, and the tests came back negative.

RIP SalvadorAllende I guess

A weapon that targets mainly the old , young or otherwise compromised ?

the idea is when you’re in prison you belong to the state n they can do whatever they want to you
That may be true wherever you live, but it's not true in developed countries with even basic respect for human rights.

This is one of the better OPs in a while. I am all for it. It’s not like they can vote, serve in the military, etc., so make them useful instead of tax burdens.

Should turn the entire prison populace into viable subjects for drug testing. Put yourself in the program and your sentence gets reduced by the amount of time spent in the study.
Fucking stupid idea, considering the rate of incarceration for marijuana use.
