International Virus outbreak in China (and elsewhere)

It looks like Japan, S.Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore etc are seeing similar rates of infection and it’s spreading. Very surprised not one death out of Japan with 33 infected, 13 today. The big question is when does the US begin stopping all flights out of Asia? What number of infected? Think of the economic impact?

Looks like 38 cases outside of mainland China just today. Which is is the most since 1/31 I believe.

Wuhan is now Racoon City.

Also, any infected asshole who fought back against mandatory quarantine during a national medical emergency and ends up tearing the medical personel's hazmat suits in the process should face attempted murder charges if they manage to recover from the virus.

If there are more selfish people like that, I'm not gonna be against using tranquilizer on the resisting infected prior to moving them out, to be honest.

Mandatory quarantine = eventual crematory

Wuhan's healthcare system is currently overwhelmed, and has a tough time tracking actual cases. They're telling patients to return to their homes since hospitals are beyond their maximum capacity, but those quarantined at home are almost guaranteed to infect their family members.

There is at least 25,000 suspected cases on top of the confirmed cases. Those are just the ones that were able to get a preliminary check at hospitals.

This isn’t on national news, but our local news

70 people from Wuhan are being shipped right outside Omaha to be quarantined and to make us all fucking nervous.

Wtf! Literally thought being in middle of the country would help if shit ended up in America.

Also, no national coverage?
Its people traveling back to the USA. All the major airport and cities are doing the same, as you do for any outbreak. It most o these people do not have the virus, and will likely not get sick. This is just extra precautions. First guy to have it in the USA, was nearby me, and he was released from the hospital today after the doctors figured out how to treat him.

Think coverage starts for real if it hits 100k infected.

At that point i start thinking about buying food from store for a bad day

the new story says they could be possibly infected. Hell, that means most could be. They don’t know. That’s why they are going to quarantine for 2 weeks. Should be 3 weeks. Just to be safe

We have a quarantine center showing up in a neighboring town as well. I'm on the coast though. Sure doesn't make me feel safe either way.

Anyone could possibly be infected. Means the were in a region or on a plane, where people have been sick. They have screeners at the airports, and if your temp is 1 or 2 degrees above normal, and it's possible you came in contact, your getting quarantined. China should have done this 2 months ago, instead, they denied there was a problem, and locked up people speaking out about it. Also, the vast majority of people dying from this are elderly or already have other ailments.

Hell back in the early 2000s I went to an Ozzy Osbourne concert in Vancouver, BC. Back home in WA 4 days later I thought I had a sinus infection, and went to a walk-in clinic. After finding out I had been in Vancouver, at a large public event, the doctors left the room for nearly an hour, came back in hazmat suits, and told me I was being quarantined, due to having symptoms similar to the SARS virus, which had just turned up in Vancouver, BC via China. I had to give blood and a flu nasal swab, and they rushed my shit to the nearest CDC clinic, which was thankfully close. After waiting roughly 2.5 more hours, doctors came back in without the suits and said all my tests were negative and I had a sinus and tear duct infection... The US doesn't mess around, and they will keep you from the Public, even though your unlikely to be infected.

This is something I will never ever be able to understand.

There are people on death row in America waiting for the final day. Why not use them as the test subject for coronavirus, ebola and so on. Don't tell me about human rights. Executing people is just as bad and they do suffer anyway. And this way we would speed up a lot of medical researches and saving money as well.

8th Amendment of the Bill of Rights - no cruel or unusual punishments. I think treating humans like lab rats falls under that.
