Internet and personal recordings devices weren't so prevalent in China back in 2003 during SARS outbreak. Also I am always skeptical of "bodies in the streets" without context and statistics. If you walk down the Tenderloin area of San Francisco, you'd think a genocide had happened based on homeless laying on the street. You have to understand the city is in panic, and tend to associate anything remotely not right with this outbreak.
