Well you are right to an extent. There ARE racists out there talking about it to further their shit agenda. That is absolutely true. The thing is how much of the bitching about DEI is actually because of it?

Anecdotal crap, but, my brother in laws and myself agree with a lot of the DEI points brought up by some folks. I possibly get labeled racist, but my BILs, who agree and are black, do not. Makes one contemplate whether those who think it is NOT happening, somehow have their own bias, and use that racist card to downplay it, or push their own agenda.

In the end, I just don’t like to throw that word around willy-nilly. It’s a harsh word that should be used only when appropriate, and not just because it is an easy card to play. Not saying you actually did that, so again, sorry if I’m wrong. It’s a common occurrence unfortunately…

Also my Twitter feed is filled with the worst people imaginable so yeah it becomes hard at times to see any other viewpoint. I believe that last line to be true. It also gives us a chance just to kick the hornet’s nest only to see what happens. Unfortunately, I myself had done exactly that in the past. A “what would happen if” type scenario. It’s the nature of anonymity to have folks troll others. At least a little bit. I mean, how many guys used to pose as females just to get free stuff, or have guys think women act a certain way? Or only to fuck with people in general? I think we can agree that it's far more nuanced than a simple black-and-white dichotomy.

• Can some publishers push political agendas that effect their games (and entire series)? Sure
• Have there been games that have been called out for the pushing of public agendas when there really isn't any? Absolutely
• Are there some consulting companies that have reportedly threatened publishers to adhere to a specific ideology or face social backlash? Yes
• Do some communities use these agendas to force in their own racist ones and gatekeep communities? Look at the twitch logs, twitter posts and YT videos.
• Are there people that deserve representation and should they be welcomed into communities? Yes, representation matters.

People don't like to be blamed as being racist for not liking a game the same way people don't like racists pin pointing every single minority that doesn't fit in with their expectations of the 'lore'.
