Rumor: Sucker Punch Gutted And Repurposed ‘Ghost Of Tsushima’ Sequel For ‘Ghost Of Yōtei’
A new rumor alleges that Sucker Punch Productions, the developers of Ghost of Tsushima and the upcoming Ghost of Yōtei, gutted and repurposed a planned Ghost of Tsushima sequel and created Ghost of Yōtei out of its bones.

This one I don’t see what the problem is. I lot Ghost but Jin Sakai’s story was told. They could have done more with him but there is just no way that anyone was going to feel like a sequel with him was as good as the original.
So they made a new character and set it in the future from the first game. She’s a woman. So what? Females being samurai’s or engaging in samurai activities isn’t unheard of. I think changing location and characters is completely fine, especially since the Hokkaido region is like the Wild West of Japan.
Could they have chosen a woman because of DEI purposes? I don’t know I’m not in their heads. But I see no surface level reason to believe that that is what they did. This one feels like a knee jerk reaction to me and I think that the game will probably end up being really good.
You are so naive, alienated or trying to fool yourself. The feminist agenda is clear, they hired several women to produce the game, feminists are destroying the western video game industry because men like it, something has to be done, kick them all out.
Reading this 'leak' and the responses to it reminds me of this Critical Drinker video, which I highly recommend the entire video but the most interesting part is at 9:55 to the end. Please watch that.
We don't know the legitimacy of that leak, and it could be fraudulent and the faker that wrote it would have very dishonest intentions.
Lets say its fraudulent until its later confirmed to be true.
Just because this Ghost sequel has a 'strong female charactet' lead doesn't mean its 'woke' and a part of some feminist agenda to destroy gaming.
Always be cautious that YOU may be the one being manipulated, that you're being suckered by those feeding your confirmation bias, and by being 'anti-woke' you're just becoming a different kind of woke.
I've praised the Netflix series Arcane constantly over the last three years, and what convinced me to check it out was the overwhelming praise for it. But I wonder if I would have blown it off as 'woke' if it was mentioned some female characters have red and blue hair, and one of them is a butch lesbian persuing a relationship with a straight female character.
And one of the best series of this year was X-Men'97, and alot of the promotional material indicated it was going to be quite woke. It outright said one of the original characters of the original series was now transgender with different pronouns. As it ends up that was all bullshit, mostly, all 'woke' elements were toned down to be mostly muted, and I still consider X-Men'97 to be one of the best series of 2024.
So, is the Ghosts sequel going to be 'woke?' Quite possibly, and maybe not. Haven't seen enough to gauge one way or the other.
So far the biggest indicator it will be is that activist lead actress, but if that's it then its nit a big deal.
