Very rare, so I share.

Same thing even in the NW. We get a good spell of dry weather and when the first rain rolls around many act as if it's their first time driving in the conditions.
People posting on local Facebook groups to beware of the icy roads when it only hit -1C. It hadn't rained in weeks so where is the ice going to come from?!

Lol , I remember my father taking me in a Mark 2 Ford Escort to a nearby empty car park about 45 years ago and basically letting rip and skidding it around like a lunatic.

Mind you he did race cars in his spare time and always had a natural affinity to cars and engines

I do this with my kids every time we get a good snowfall, then my wife tried to ban me from doing it because it was "unsafe & irresponsible".
Kids & I over-ruled her though, it's just too much fun and the worst that's ever happened is I got the car stuck in a snowbank.

Same, I let my son drive in an old little ragged Toyota Tacoma we had when it iced over years ago. No traffic where we lived and we could drift around the corners at break neck slow speeds. Lol

not sure if your area is prone to morning dew, believe that can cause icy conditions too - be safe!
No need, I haven't driven in years haha.

When I think of the icy scrapes in parts of the UK where they didn't grit or salt the roads compared to people losing the plot in the desert.

Thanks for sharing those pics. You look good.

It feels like -26 where I am. Damn cold as hell.
