This is what I don't understand.

CNN is a news organization (one of many) covering the investigation, not conducting it. That would be the FBI. Furthermore, as Van Jones stated in the above video, he doesn't see any Presidency-ending scandal currently-- or on the horizon-- from what has been uncovered so far. That would appear to be apparent to everyone but Maxine Waters, Al Green, and a handful of other House Democrats.

That doesn't preclude the wisdom and necessity of pursuing the investigation into many of his closest advisers, and Russian activity in general, with regard to cyberterrorism and espionage; not just during the campaign, but currently and going forward. This is a matter of national security.

Is national security the "nothing burger"?

not singling you out (as you're not a leftist anyhoo),
but I don't recall ANY concerns over national security from any leftist when a Presidential Candidate, her main advisor, and her advisor's husband all blatantly and flagrantly violated OpSec and IAA protocols for all federal workers

People being extremely hyperbolic towards one side, while going out of their way to downplay their own side's egregious faults has always been a thing in politics, but never to this level.

did you see the video from a couple days ago where the cnn executives said they knew there was nothing to the Russia story, they're just running with it for ratings? and that they were sure nothing would ever come out of the story because all the details had been leaked long ago.

and that they also made the decision to pull off actual news stories to go back and run with the Russian faux story?

whats there to understand, they fucking told everyone whats going on

That producer doesn't even produce Russian coverage. CNN pursuing ratings doesn't invalidate the legitimacy of the investigation, either. These aren't mutually exclusive ideas.

Then you definitely missed or forgot about my criticism of Hillary. As many have pointed out, though, Colin Powell also managed his servers in such a vulnerable fashion, and people like Huckabee (while in accordance with the law) were no more secure with regard to state secrets. Furthermore, Clinton's vulnerability was exploited by the Russians, was it not? It's not like this stuff doesn't overlap.

I am one of the only people I know who has been consistently concerned with regard to all. I gladly would rate my concern with Trump as greater than my concern with Clinton, but they're both crooks. I've said it. Do you hear any of the #Trumpets admitting that he's a crook? He is.

Yes, the left (which includes almost all MSM) is motivated by a patriotic desire to protect our national security... right. Their fervent hope is to get Trump impeached or to damage him as much as possible. They'd stop at nothing to get that done--including fabricating stuff. The MSM's hate for Trump is what motivates their entire political programming.
