Pardon me for the length of this post, and some of the irregularity as it's been done on my phone.
For anyone that's like me, not dug in with a political party, not totally against a political party, but yet just a dude that was born and lives in America that has his own thoughts, his own views, his own ideas that are far too nuanced to be able to categorize within some neat and tidy package that could lean from one side to the other.
I'm just a dude that works really hard, pays his taxes, and sits on the sidelines and watches intently As the World Turns. I take it as a privilege that we have the technology in the means to be able to follow what is going on in the world, and having been privileged enough to travel to different countries in the past, view on politics and Society in general is now even more nuanced and worldly, combine that with the fact that I love history and what you get is a guy that pays attention to all of it, all over the world.
Badly worded, horrible structured paragraph, but all is leading to my point...
Anyone that was watching the 2016 presidential election last year that did not notice the shift in the media approximately a week or so after both nominations were locked up to an extreme bias against Donald Trump has their head in the sand.
And it never stopped. Maybe it's hard to say someone's head was in the sand when not everyone had the opportunity to watch the networks, and keep their finger on the pulse of the media as the election went on. I mean, I was working 70 hours a week all last summer, and I found time, but that is something I make a priority particularly on an election year.
When I saw the shift occur initially, I told everyone that I knew, everyone who would talk politics with me that Donald Trump for sure was going to lose. That the fix was in. That the media had clearly chosen who they would like to win, which was unprecedented. Everyone threw away all of their integrity, at least those that had any left, and it still didn't work. I'm not a Donald Trump cheerleader by any means, but I was proud of my country on Election Day when we bucked the media and voted for change once again. (once again we won't get it, but we keep voting for it which is good)
But anyway, to know that there are people out there, in June of 2017 almost an entire year after the machine finally took Trump seriously and engaged against him, that could possibly deny the media bias.
And I'm not saying that the Russia thing is bullshit, I don't know. Maybe there is something there that I'm not seeing, maybe there's some kind of Smoking Gun that will be revealed at the end of the FBI investigation that will blow my socks off.
But all the media has got right now, is what we got already, which is what we were told Last Summer before we even voted, which is that Russia was trying to get involved in our election by pumping out a bunch of anti Hillary Clinton propaganda to combat the Clinton machine, and the media.
I don't know what business they have doing that, but if you're telling me but Donald Trump is an illegitimate president because of dude that was hired by Russia wrote a fake article about Hillary Clinton and tricked various people into voting for Donald Trump as a result, and get the fuck out of my face with it.
Oh the Russians hacked the DNC to show the overall populace that the left-wing populist movement was squashed by the party itself, in a move that can only be described in my opinion as Anti-Democratic? Fucking woe is me.
The Russians did us a favor. If George Soros is that butt hurt, maybe he needs to hire some hackers to get into Donald Trump's shit and try to find something that could be possibly worse than grab them by the pussy.
Oh wait, he doesn't need to hire hackers. He has the American Media thumping on Donald Trump from every direction every single minute of the day.
Let me State this again. I'm not a Donald Trump fan, on the face of it, it's an embarrassment for our country that the best candidates we could come up with were reality TV host and a corrupt, tabloid fodder typical politician that has been plugged into positions of power since her husband was elected president in 1992.... I am proud of my country for what happened on Election Day. I would be more proud if he had earned the popular vote, but by winning he showed that Americans will not be swindled so easily by the media anymore, we've been burned too many times. You can thank the 2003 beating of the war Drums by the media, and their lack of Integrity that was no longer a secret since then. At best, America showed that they noticed this, and that they are smarter than that, at worst reince priebus and everyone at the RNC have unmatched ability in the politics game and set up the chessboard just right to allow such and impossible victory to happen. Probably a little bit of both.
It's a losing battle though. The coastal States will continue to fill up with new immigrants, the new age immigrant, coming in search of the new American freedom.
The old immigrants came to America in search of the old American Freedom, when freedom was tied to the word opportunity. Rather than the new American Freedom, where freedom is tied to the word entitlement.
If there is anything that the left has learned over the course of history is that when the population swells, and there are enough Have Nots around, it's irresistible to vote for free stuff, for safety nets.. something that they would never find back home, in the real world.
So to me, all this is is the left, the alt left, let's call it the Deep left, are pulling out all the stops in order to slow down this swing to the right that America took by taking a page out of the right Wings book and attacking the legitimacy of the president. Well, the taking more than a page, I think they're using the entire book that the right-wing used. Donald Trump becoming synonymous with Russia in the same way that Obama's name became synonymous with Obamacare.
It's brilliant. It's fun to see how it is going down in real terms while everyone else is caught up in the fluff and the Tabloid aspect of it, thinking that even if they find that Russia was favoring Trump, funding him, whatever, that it will make any difference in the long run period because that's just Donald Trump. Whatever comes after Trump is going to be even worse for you. America was pissed off in 2008 and voted for change, change won and somehow we still didn't get change. So then we were really really angry by the time 2016 rolled around, and we voted for change in the form of a hand grenade, to throw at the White House and shake shit up... so brace yourself for 2024 when once again we have not received the change we seek. We threw a hand grenade in the White House in 2016, imagine what we will do in 2024.
