Yeah, he was supposed to be fighting Ruiz in a final WBC title eliminator for the #1 spot. Now the WBA has elevated him in their ratings from #3 to #1 contender (he's still behind Dubois). Who knows who he's fighting next. The only way he fights Usyk next is if Usyk pays Dubois step-aside money or he requests an exemption to fight Wilder instead.

He isn't fighting Dubois because he wants to, but because the WBA is forcing a mandatory.

They've said publicly there's only one fight why Usyk still isn't retired and it's Fury.

Btw according to John Fury, the Saudis offered Wilder and Usyk a mega money match in principle. The problems likely were Usyk's attempt to convince Fury for a unification and now Frank Warren's and Dubois' insistence to force the WBA to order a mandatory defense.
 
At this point I wish there was a totally separate section for fights that have not been announced or signed. Not only can they not make the fights that make sense go off, they can't even get the 2nd & 3rd options to go off. They can't even get anyone in any legitimate top 10 to fight eachother. Its so so ridiculous.
 
I would watch the shit out of that one.... I would expect Usyk to outbox Deontay throughout, but not really be able to hurt him so he'll have to be perfect for 12 rounds.
Tension to the end. I like it.

Well, wtf is Usyk supposed to do? He's the man and nobody will fight him. He doesn't have a lot of fights left for himself either so just taking out mandatories seems like a shit deal all around.

Fury pussed out, he's thrashed AJ twice... if Wilder want's it that'd be great, and it would give Deontay a chance to become a multi-belt champion.

Thats it. It ill be a typical wilder fight. Lose every round untill he lands the bomb or lose on points. Dont think Usyk will put the pedal down and get him out of there. Def watch
 
Wilder should troll everyone and go after the Bridger/Supercruiser weight title while Usyk/Dubois is negotiated and goes down. , the man makes weight for it in most of his HW matches and fighting a smaller opponent would be solid prep for Usyk after fighting dudes at the larger end of HW.

Not blaming Usyk at all. Everyone reasonable understands he's not ducking anybody or causing any of this.
I don't know what he should do at this point.
Even if he moves on to Wilder. I won't hold my breath on that happening (even though I've called it for a while now when many claimed Wilder would never sniff a belt again).
I would say the same thing for Wilder that I said for AJ when Fury teased a fight after the 2nd Usyk fight. ... Wilder should agree to all terms and take the life raft and shortcut title shot that team Usyk provides to him. Also, even means he will get the 4th Fury fight he probably wants too if he wins. Should be an easy fight to make if Dubois is hurt & out. However, boxing, this division, and the current crop of top heavyweights (minus Usyk) will continue to not make fights....
 
My theory is that Fury knows that Wilder will flatline both Usyk and AJ, which is why he's sidelining himself--he's hoping for a 4th fight with Wilder.
 
Would love to see this whilst I expect Usyk to outclass him for UD win- I know you can never ever write off Wilder.
 
I'd love to see it, Usyk should win easily though. He's smarter than Fury, he's not gonna position himself in a place for one punch to land and that's all he has to worry about.

usyk isn't like the rest of the guys around today he knows what he's doing, hence, dull fight but interesting.
