The average height of t50 welterweights is 5'11.5 which suggests that Usman is taller than the average welterweight factoring in the fact that they all exaggerate height

But height & reach is more important in fighting, at least in stand-up fighting.

Usman has a far longer reach than Gaetje.

That is because they both have wrestling bases. Wrestlers tend to be the "shorter" fighters in the division. I assume because you can't be super tall for division and have the muscle mass required for wrestlers.

I have also noticed the tallest fighters in the division don't often make it to the top.
