Usman is too small for Welterweight (170) division?

You should think of it like 2 bowling balls that kind of look the same, but when you pick them up, one is way heavier

Usman's size is overstated around here, but he's definitely big enough for the welterweight division.

He was always one of the biggest of WW division, but all of a sudden he becomes small. Go figure...

No, he is pretty big for a WW, could not compete at LW

For comparison:

I keep seeing people saying Khabib is a weight bully being 190lbs when he fought at 155lb and is over 200lbs now.

So I guess Shavkat Rakhmonov is 265lb according to Sherdog and this picture.

Usman is maybe the greatest WW ever, and he's to small for the division? That makes no sense at all.

Usman is more muscular & heavier built for sure. Thicker legs & especially torso. Look at those chest & shoulder muscles.

But height & reach is more important in fighting, at least in stand-up fighting.

Usman has a 76in reach to Gaethje's 70in reach. I also don't agree that height and reach is somehow definitively more important, there's a lot of data that would argue that, especially height.

Gaethje looks like Cody Mckenzie when standing next to Usman, so no, Usman is not a small WW.
