Usman & DC arguing over Max being the GOAT 145er

Aldo most accomplished
Max most entertaining
Volk most skilled

I think prime Volk beats Aldo, they met when Aldo was past his prime, but still. Depends on what you favor, but Max above Volk is insane, but whatever.

Lol I was just going to grab this very article thank you

<JackieThumbsUp>

At this point, I'm not sure it's worthwhile to engage him. He'll tell you that you're stupid in moments where he's wrong. You're fighting an uphill battle, lol.

Both guys on the broadcast arguing over Max being the GOAT 145lb fighter rn. What a cringe fest.
DC’s list:
1. Max
2. Aldo
3. Volk

Marty’s list:
1. Aldo

3. Volk

I think it's:
Volk
Aldo
Max

How do you have Max and Aldo above Volk when he beat them and all their best wins? Plus everyone else?
Max is only ranked because he beat Aldo x2. The rest of his wins are just the same as Volk, but he also had losses in there.
Aldo had one of the most dominant streaks in MMA, but he still lost to both Max and Conor.
Volk beat them both AND their best wins, whilst defending his title against top 5 guys that Max didn't take out on the way.

Oh I'm sure the goalposts will shift now. But it's not about making the trolls admit defeat. It's about exposing their false narrative in front of everyone else watching. Can't let people just rewrite history.

Conor is better than Aldo is too. Forget the embarrassing 13 second KO - tell me instead if there's anyone on Aldos resume that FW Conor could not beat?

You're fascinated by a streak which has more to do with circumstance of there being no elite competition round than Aldo being good. As soon as Aldo started fighting elites (and in his prime) he started losing.
Conor caught Aldo, literally that is all that was all that showed in their bout. Conor fought 2 ranked at FW before his bout with Aldo, Poirier & Chad Mendes who was a late replacement bout.

I'm fascinated by a body of work in a division, that is a criteria to me aside from defending a championship in said division. Something Conor never has done or ever will. Edgar alone would give Conor fits, let alone a Chad Mendes with a actual camp, proper training and gameplan I would favor heavily to beat him.

You're fascinated by a quick knockouts, how many times have we seen throughout the years that sometimes quick KO's is not really a proper of analyzing a bout as it happened to quickly. I personally think Conor is a stylistically a bad matchup Aldo and possible Conor beats him again if they were have to rematch, that didn't occur though so it's a ?.

Is Conor better than Aldo, maybe but Conor didn't do enough in the division to even be in the conversation.

You can have Conor above for all I care, that is your opinion. But the General consensus is Aldo is far and above the rest of the division when it comes to being GOAT, voted by his peers, coaches, media, anyone remotely in the community of MMA, from Boxers, Wrestlers, MT, Kickboxers etc.

Because we know fans like you are so reliable and unbiased when it comes who's better than who.

So stick to your opinion and I'll stick to mine.

Goodluck with your opinions in this thread.

so.... he chose to stay and cling to the 145 belt? He had the same deal as Connor essentially.

This minor detail doesn't change the caliber of opponents he faced, and them not being on the level that Volk has faced

Also congrats very proud of you its super rare to see posters on this forum (mods included) actually cite valid info rather than just make stuff up.

Aldo has nine title defenses. He's the far above Max, and one of the top 6 P4P of all time, right behind GSP, Jones, DJ, Fedor, and Silva. If you discount cheaters he's top 4.

lmao, I mention how Connor beat Aldo... and suddenly i'm fascinated by quick knockdowns?

Aldo is not the Goat, just a right place right time guy in a weak'ish division. He got beat (in his prime too) when the division evolved.

"far above the rest of the division"

Max >>>> Aldo
Volk >>>> Max
Volk >>>> Aldo

all you have is he had a streak of title defenses, as soon as you ponder quality of opposition your opinion falters. But why do we even need to?

Volk fought Aldo, when Aldo was in his prime and Volk beat Aldo.

Your opinion is based on stuff floating around in your head and random anecdotes along the lines of "everyone thinks Aldo is the goat" - without a single fact or example or logical flow (eg Aldo ran through X fighter, this was at a time when X fighter was a killer and had just beat Y and Z fighters), no none of that.

Agree with you on Connor, some logic there. A fluke'ish punch from Connor based partly off a mistake from Aldo isn't truly representative of Aldo's capability. Same as I think JJ win over Gane was largely due to Gane freezing up. Am I supposed to even give you that though? This is the same forum that celebrated Alex being 3-0 over Izzy when the detail of those fights showed a vastly different story, but we won't get into that.

Great, good for you. Stick to your opinion I'll stick to mine. If you're looking for a back & forth conversation I'm usually up for it, but I've already said my peace on this topic & you using the coveted MMA math leads you to believe in your opinion. So again. Good luck there buddy, looks like your having success turning everyone's opinions into yours.

How many title defenses does Conor have again? I forgot

Everything Shillmier says is filtered through his UFC cuck radar.

He understands that Max is the UFC's favorite of the 3, therefore those are the balls he will garble.

How would prime Aldo and Max do against Islam?

Both most likely get smoked.

Aldo has the best (non-former elite wrestler) TDD in MMA history alongside GSP.

His only LW fight is a loss early in his career, so that could be telling, but I certainly wouldn't be counting a prime Aldo out just based on his ability to stay standing.

I disagree with them both.
1. Volk
2. Max
3. Aldo

Head to head is the most important factor. Volk is the best fighter out of all 3. Aldo had the great run but he was outclassed by Max when he was 31 years old twice. Max is the better boxer with the better cardio and Volk's all-around MMA game is better than them both. The proof is in the pudding. All 3 are top of the food chain guys. These are all-time great fighters here so nothing but respect to them all. Max and Aldo are 2 of my favorite fighters.
