What is true is there is greater disparity in the US. Rich are richer and poor are poorer. There are more rich than ever and more poor than ever. But truth is poor are poor bc they don't know how to navigate society. There are more rich bc the saavy individuals of the old middle class figured out how to become rich.

This is for the most part true. Although, to say that anyone who is poor today is only poor because they don't understand how to work sighing the system is only partially true or rather oversimplifying it. But yeah, America is doing just fine. Presidential candidates always want to convince you that the country is crumbling. Otherwise, what platform are they going to run on? "Yeah, I'm just going to continue doing what the last guy did." It doesn't sound appealing to anyone.

i generally agree but i find it fascinating that people thought ww1 would never happen for the same reason. that economies are too interconnected and that the destruction would be too severe. granted there were no nukes but a lot of the things happened so quickly that nations quickly lost control once they hit their big red button. back then that button was 'mass mobilization' today its nukes and icbms
 
The US has been allegedly dying for longer then the UFC has been. But just like the UFC it's simply not true, there are ups and downs and booms and recessions but guess what that happens with every country. I'm not even from the states but obviously I follow their economy as being from their neighbor to the north it always has a direct effect on us. Obviously things are not like they were in the 50's but when you recently emerge as a superpower an enormous boom like that is almost a guarantee and of course in time it will teeter off and you will experience hardships and never get back to that point but it's still the largest economy in the world and on the larger scale most of the world depends on the economy in the states for global trade and prosperity.

After 1945 US economy was growing rapidly but i can say that your best decade was 1990-2000. Not only the middle class was stronger than ever but also you had goverment surplus and your debt did not increase for a decade. It stayed at 5 trillion dollars for 10 fucking years. DO YOU REALISE THAT FROM 5 TRILLION DOLLARS YOU WENT TO 20 TRILLION DOLLARS IN 15 YEARS?
