The fallout from that was larger majorities for the Republican party across the country.

Yeah, but you didnt have a GOP potus with a horrible approval rating and the divide in the country wasn't as bad as it is now. Also look at all the dems picking up positions in special elections and whatever. Even in red places sometimes.

I believe we've already fenced and walled off the highest traffic areas years ago. If some more spots need some more fencing, sure go for it, but the idea that the entire border needs a concrete wall is ridiculous.

But it's the GOP who stuck DACA into this conversation, not the Dem's. They leveraged CHIP against immigration to force the Democrats to pick one vs. the other. The Dem's weren't going to address immigration at all until the GOP made it a requirement to fund children's health insurance.

You have to ignore the history to make this hypocrisy on Schumer's part.

I work on a fixed price contract with DoD so I couldn't give a fuck about a shutdown. That said, I'm blaming the Democrats if it happens.
