I'd rather him fight a veteran than Rama. Herman or Harris aren't coming back to the UFC anytime soon. Rama is a top prospect.

I disagree... It's not unlikely that the winner of that fight gets another shot in the UFC.

Infamous Iranian international wrestler Aliakbari is apparently training for MMA in Thailand. See Bloody Elbow's article here.

He has some amazing potential at HW, however his drug use issues may be a problem for him if he continues along that path.

Name one? I can name countless.... In the UFC a 5 win streak automatically makes you a contender of matter what the kind of opposition it is. This is what ruins young prospects the most. Top notch prospects typically should have something like 7-10 fights in the UFC before fighting the best. Zuffa should really look to the world of boxing if they want to learn how to build a fighter better.

Sadly, they don't have the depth they do in boxing organizations. This is the reason they shouldn't be so quick to cut guys in the heavier weight classes. Jack May, Nandor Guelmino, and guys like that should be kept around to fight guys at the lower end, or else you have a bunch of prospects fighting each other.

Arjan Bhullar, Canadian Olympic wrestler, makes his pro debut at age 28 against Adam Santos (1-0) at BFL 33 on November 7th.

Results for this weekend's fights will be posted this afternoon :)

Wow, he went from amateur to pro quickly. I was going to do a little write up on Arjan in a few days actually, so good timing.

Never heard of him before looking him up. Could be interesting, but probably won't lay off the juice so One FC is his only great option.

Also, Walt Harris is apparently back in the UFC on short notice to fight Soa. That's a winnable fight for him if he can keep it on the feet.

You can name countless, but you still haven't named one.

Update for Titan FC 31: Wes Combs (20-6) injured, Scott Barrett (15-4) now faces Kenny Garner (13-7). Also, as mentioned before, Walt Harris is now facing Soa Palelei in the UFC, so Dave Herman needs a new opponent for the Titan HW strap.

Yeah, I left that one out on purpose, because Nurmagomedov was supposed to face Artur Astakhov at LHW, and Mishchenko had just been knocked out 2 days before.

Nice win for Kudin. Time to set up Kudin/Graham, that would be fireworks. I think Kudin would probably take it, but Graham is still dangerous despite the fact that he's slowed down/aged considerably over the past few years.

Because I don't need to... If you had actually read my post instead of being a smart ass maybe you'd learn something.

I can't think of a single prospect the UFC has signed, who hasn't started out fighting fellow newcomers or guys on the chopping block. If they beat those guys, they fight the next level up - there are probably cases of guys being given too much, too soon, but they're few and far between.

The example that pops into my head right now, is Horiguchi. 3-0 now in the UFC with wins over Dustin Pague (who had a terrible losing record in the UFC), can't remember the second guy off the top of my head but I want to say Montague (solid fighter), and he just beat a guy from Guam with a 7-3 record or something. That isn't throwing someone to the wolves. What would you prefer his next fight to be? Louis Gaudinot or another newcomer with a 6-1 record or something? I'd prefer the former, he's earned the chance for a better quality of opponent (and Gaudinot's record is hardly impressive, either)!

Last minute replacement. Munhoz obviously wanted the fast-track rather than win another 1-2 fights...since that fight he's faced Hobar and Sanders, as entry level as it gets at this level. I agree, rough debut, but the UFC clearly knew he was a bluechip prospect and have since taken it slowly with him.

Point I'm trying to make is:

This is the UFC. You sign, you face a contracted UFC fighter who is always gonna be someone who could win a title on the regional circuit at the least. There are no 3-2, 4-3, 1-0 guys signed for one-off fights in the UFC. Bellator give guys a few jobbers before they get the bigger test, IMO - if you're good enough to be signed to a major promotion, you shouldn't be mollycoddled. Yes, you shouldn't be given contenders immediately but in the UFC, the bottom-ranked guys in each division are still damn good fighters.'''

Look at Jumabieke Tuerxun. They specifically signed a 5-0 Philippino dude who hadn't fought for 2years, for his debut and he still lost. They can't do anything more than that, for a new signing - signing a low-level guy who's been inactive for 2yrs, just so you can get a comfortable debut and acclimatise.

To be fair, that Filipino dude is tough as nails, and he was pretty good too.
