Unsigned Heavyweights - Thread Two

yeah the weight drop was needed not only to be in a big promotion but for his health really. Wouldn't mind him destroying rama. Bellator is a good place for him if he can make the weight. I think he had a deal with them at one point or at least in talks but he stayed super heavy

I think Rama beats him

I think it would be a toss up. If Barnett used his wrestling he would a muchbetter shot.

yeah but steve mocco is far better wrestler than beastboy and could not hold rama on the mat

Same here. And the longer Rama has to improve the worse the odds get. Rama will be top 10 caliber in 3-5 years if he keeps moving at his current pace.

That being said, a slimmed down Beast Boy is still a formidable fighter.

This next week or two I'll be doing my quarterly search through thousands of heavyweights to pick out future stars and high potential fighters from the ranks of the amateurs and early pros. Stay tuned to see if anyone new pops up!

This sounds interesting. Will it be posted in this thread or will it be separate?

Awesome! Although I find it stupid that OneFC couldn't get Johnson a fight to keep him busy, he shouldn't need to fight in smaller promotions to make money if he's signed with a larger one.

I'll take Johnson in that match easily anyways.

I'll be posting it in the thread, it will be a longer post so keep an eye out!

Does tony has a one fc deal still???

If not Johnson vs Rama in wsof!

Johnson vs the winner of Herman vs Harris makes sense

Last I heard he was under contract, unless they released him very recently. I hope they did because they weren't being fair to him in terms of giving him fights.

I agree he's had bad luck with companies shadowing the guy!

Give him fights, he is a talented hw for sure

Chase gormley returned this 2014 with 2 wins including a win over tony lopez!

10-4 record, overall

It's certainly much deeper than WSOF division, he's only 22 and a few years in Bellator certainly wouldn't hurt. Knowing Zuffa they probably wouldn't build him up properly, and ruin him as a fighter. Building fighters seems to be a really difficult concept for Zuffa to grasp.

Please name one fighter zuffa didn't build properly?

Its amazing isn't it?

Who were they meant to have Ruan Potts fight?
He fought Hamilton and Palelei. Fairly entry level.

Jack May.
Derrick Lewis (fellow debutant) and Shawn Jordan (cut material before he beat May)/

People fail to grasp that the UFC doesn't have any Josh Burns, or whatever other 4-3 HW that Bellator might feed to a newcomer (and 4-3 is being kind, sometimes 2-2, 1-1 etc).

And if anyone says Mark Hunt, they have no grasp of MMA in the slightest.

So this kinda came out of nowhere, but Oplot Challenge had a card this weekend, and the main event was a heavyweight fight.

The result of Oplot Challenge 103: Moscow Challenge 2

Alexander Gladkov (5-1) defeats Evgeni Myakinkin (9-3) by 4 round decision.

I'll have a full list of HW results from this weekend up on Monday.

Name one? I can name countless.... In the UFC a 5 win streak automatically makes you a contender of matter what the kind of opposition it is. This is what ruins young prospects the most. Top notch prospects typically should have something like 7-10 fights in the UFC before fighting the best. Zuffa should really look to the world of boxing if they want to learn how to build a fighter better.
