Daaaaamn! Ya got me.lolI know Tyler just beat Kevin Asplund, maybe that's why I confused them.
Don't fret! Tyler has a fight coming up now too. He's replacing Ryan Martinez/Joe Cason against Brandon Griffin (3-0) at PFC Rock N Rumble on November 21st.

Jared Cannonier signs with the UFC. He debuts against Shawn Jordan at UFC 182.

I figured Cannonier would be in line for a shot soon. US heavyweights who are UFC quality are getting rare, and they are the easiest to sign and throw into fights quickly. Cannonier will have a speed advantage over Jordan, so we'll see how that works out.
You should probably offer your insight on Cannonier in my Jordan vs. Cannonier thread in the heavies. Many won't know who he is.
Chris Barnett was interviewed by Bloody Elbow on what it's like to be a Super Heavyweight in MMA. He reveals that he is currently at 295 and that his upcoming fight with Darrill Schoonover will be his last at SHW before moving down to HW. I recommend reading the article.

"I guess I'll go ahead and let the cat out of the bag. I'm on my way down already. We've been putting in the work and I'm already at 295 and it feels great. I'm taking the steps that I need to take. I'm learning how to put the candy bars down and I'm going for a run instead. I have fought at 265, and I know it's the best weight for me. It's one of those things where you have to be brutally honest with yourself.
He said he wants in a promotion with a TV deal (Bellator/Titan) and then wants in the UFC. After the Schoonover fight, I can see him facing the winner of Walt Harris vs. Dave Herman in Titan for their HW belt as a test to see if he can make the weight and how good he does before going to the UFC. Though if Harris beat Herman, that would be a rematch.
yeah the weight drop was needed not only to be in a big promotion but for his health really. Wouldn't mind him destroying rama. Bellator is a good place for him if he can make the weight. I think he had a deal with them at one point or at least in talks but he stayed super heavy
