Nice! Now ksw has a looser for a title contender! Wtf!

Goltsov is a beast UFC needs to sign him already, ksw needs another contender soon!

KSW putting Graham against Bedorf is such a joke. They rarely have Bedorf fight on their cards, and when they do they give him terrible competition. We'll probably see him fight Pudz next, then a rematch with Nastula, then another rematch with Pudz. All the while Wlodarek will be fighting the real competition.

So DJ Linderman beat Monson by 5th round TKO. Anyone see the fight? Who won the first 4 rounds?

Monson needs to go back to counseling and not kill himself. But knowing what he's like, he'll keep going until he dies in the ring.

Bellator deal incoming? lol they love them Glory boys

I hope not honestly. It's not just tht I've wanted to see both East brothers in the UFC. I also would like to see Bellator sort out the problems with their HW division before signing a lot of new blood.

Cody East is fighting in the next Glory Heavyweight Tournament.

East has good boxing for an MMA heavyweight, but let's be real, he's going to get torched by any lifelong kickboxer. He should be booking another MMA fight and not going off to get KO'd in Glory.

well he's at least at a great camp. He'll most likely get wrecked but he's completely dedicated himself to fighter, so he should find relative success wherever he goes.

Yea i agree, although to be fair its an 'American' heavyweight tournament, as opposed to the normal 'title contendor tournament'. The 2 other guys confirmed for it so far are Everett Sims (0-1) and Xavier Vigney (6-1), so its not like he's gonna be fighting guys too high level.

oh nice, so really just good exposure for him. I think he actually has a good chance now. There was this one american guy i saw fight on glory at HW a while back that should be in it. He's white kinda chubby. was getting wrecked by this dude and then knocked him out. can't for the life of me remember his name i've been trying to figure it out for months. It was on a spike main card if that helps. Wish i remember at least one of their names so then i could figure it out

Edit: Come to think of it i actually think he was Australian. Looking it up again. i think it was Ben Edwards so scratch that.

It depends on who the rest are, Vigney is quite good. Jarrell Miller as well if he's off his drug suspension, and Randy Blake if he's going up in weight again.

My concern stems from Cody East losing by KO in his last boxing bout months ago against a low level boxer, if he can't get past regional level boxers, he's not going to do well against competition in Glory. His MMA success comes from the fact that he is, at his base, a wrestler and comes from a wrestling background, he can strike well, but he also has a more dominant facet in his wrestling to fall back on when confronted with a superior striker.

well clearly he can take a shot, considering he took a shelacking from Brice ritani-coe. Hope Ritani-Coe rebounds nicely and has a full training camp i'd like to see that fight again eventually.

I asked this in the Bellator thread but maybe this question will get more traction here - what are everyone's thoughts on Tony Johnson vs. Volkov this Friday? I haven't actually seen Johnson fight but it looks like he's a fairly solid prospect-ish type fighter, good wins over Sylvia, Lewis, Lopez and Garner but a tough loss to Lokteff. Does he have anything for Volkov, or is he just more fodder for the ex-champ?

Like i said in the other thread. good wrestling. very solid fighter. Trains at a great camp. he says he wants to strike with Volkov and has been training with Deontay Wilder so his standup should be on point but he won't be able to match Volkov. Should be a good fight but Volkov is the better fighter. WOuldn't be completely surprised if Tony wrestled his way to a win though

Good summary, agreed.

I wanted some opinions on fighters I haven't profiled yet. I have a list of 10 HW's I'll post that aren't mentioned in my post, and I want to see who you all think has the best future in the heavyweight division. Here's my list of "not quite made it" fighters:

Dmitry Poberezhets
Jeremy Hardy
Michal Andryszak
Evgeny Erokhin
Dale Sopi
Jani Istvan
Andrew van Zyl
Chris Lokteff
Jeff Hughes
Ruben Wolf
