Unsigned Heavyweights - Thread Three

Evgeny Erokhin defeats Jimmy Ambriz by a weird body shot about a minute into the fight. Ambriz looked like an end of career Bob Sapp in there, he came in, took a punch, and collected his paycheck.

I know I say this every time, but Erokhin weighing in at 220 pounds looking soft makes him an average sized LHW, and I think he could even fight MW with a weight cut.

Please stop giving ambriz fights!

That's some good news. UFC needs more heavyweights.

Also, I like this threads. Tons of great information! Thanks to all the guys who contribute!

Agreed, I'd love to see Tybura fight in the UFC, most of the UFC HW's don't come from submission grappling backgrounds, so he could win a lot of fights on that skill alone.

And glad you read through the Unsigned threads, the community is amazing with contributions, and there's really no other substitute for what we have going on here.

And we're back in business, thanks to the mods for fixing the chronological order of the thread. I did some updates and got it looking fancy again.

This weekend we have some good amateur fights. Amir Lacy faces off against Ruben Castanon for the California State amateur cruiserweight title, and Chris Lewis faces off against Jose Lopez for the California State amateur heavyweight title.

Chris Lewis defeats Jose Lopez by unanimous decision for the California State amateur heavyweight title. Lewis is moving along nicely and should be ready for a pro debut in 2016.

I still can't fight the result of Amir Lacy's title fight against Ruben Castanon however.

Also Tony Lopez defeats Tim Hague by TKO-3 at Unified MMA 25 (sorry if it was mentioned)

Richard odoms 10-2 vs yusuke kawaguchi at Wsof-global 2. February 7 Japan

I legit would rather Tony Lopez fight Fedor than the Indian guy nobody has heard of. At least Lopez has been in there with good competition and has wins over many former UFC guys.

yes, even Hague would be more legit than Jaideep

Plenty of people in Japan had heard of Singh. People outside of Japan had also heard of Singh.

Jarjis Danho is making his UFC debut against Daniel Omielanczuk on the February London card.

I'll go with Danho, he's durable and can sling leather. Omielanczuk is probably the more experienced striker, but his gas tank and durability swing it in favor of Danho for me.

Also as a follow up note, Amir Lacy defeats Ruben Castanon by TKO in round 2 to capture the California State amateur cruiserweight championship.

Josh diekman 15-6 vs Ashley gooch 8-4 added to Ces MMA Jan 8th

Oli Thompson KO's Fernando Rodrigues to win the IGF heavyweight tournament. Who the hell would have guessed that Oli Thompson would win that tournament?

My mind is blown. A tournament that included Beastboy, Yosef AM and F Rodrigues should have produced a new surging prospect and instead, bloody Oli Thompson wins? A 205lb'er who recently (IIRC) lost to Brett McDermott, the 50yr old former rugby player that King Mo toasted the other night.

Waste!

Fuck heavyweight bro.

Evgeniy Erokhin is set to face Jani Istvan, I'm smelling an upset.
