Unsigned Heavyweights - Thread Four

Another brain-fart mid-fight sees Tom Aspinall lose via DQ to Lukasz Parobiec. He falls to 4-2. Seems he was DQ'd for illegal strikes, either downward elbows or shots to the back of the head. Kid needs to learn to keep his head and stop making silly mistakes.

Read on tapology that it was due to 12-6 elbows.

REAL says Amir Aliakbari will fight with Carlos Toyota in October.

I wonder what happened with Colombo or Santos. I would have rather seen Amir fight them than Toyota. That whole RealFC tournament was weird.

Totally agree, he goes a bit too "Palhares" when he's on top. He needs to have more controlled aggression. Sucks that he now has another "L" on his record he shouldn't have had in the first place.

Lorenzo hood 9-3 vs Tyler King 10-4 added to Wsof 31

I'll go with King in this one. I've said it many times before, but Hood has done nothing to show me he's improved from being just a strong brawler who bull rushes people.

Some results from the weekend:

Godbeer defeats Austin by TKO. On to Bellator vs Mulheron for Godbeer! I think he'll beat Mulheron and get another run at Bellator's HW division.

Tom Aspinall loses to Lukasz Parobiec by DQ as noted above.

Konstantin Gluhov defeats Tony Lopez by decision.

Justin Ledet and Brice Ritani-Coe go to an NC due to a sloppy eye poke from Ledet. I still think Ledet should be fighting at LHW. He could probably even make MW with a good weight cut.

Andrew Van Zyl begins a comeback run at the title by defeating Tomasz Kowalkowski by TKO. I'd say he's ready for a run against Danie Van Heerden for the title. While Wessel Mostert, Gary Smit, and Michael Vermuelen try to make their cases.

Speaking of amateurs making their debuts, Wessel Mostert wins his first fight by TKO in the first round. Also Brendan Battles wins his first amateur fight by TKO in the first as well. Battles will be added to my honorables shortly, he has lots of potential.

In amateur news, Blackzillian trained NAIA runner up Denzel Freeman wins his third amateur fight by KO in the first.

Adam Wieczorek defeats Zoumana Cisse by KO in the first. That was a gatekeeper test for Adam, and he passed with flying colors. Looking forward to seeing him fight on a bigger stage like KSW.

Wow, that's crazy. Cisse fought Goltsov and N'Gannou without getting KO'd, that's a good win. Would love to see him in KSW.

Anyanwu beat Cruz in a 4 round fight? According to the video cffc posted on their fb page. So odd.

Yeah, I watched that one. It was 4 rounds, if tied, it goes to a 5th. Cruz looked like he injured himself earlier in the fight, and Anyanwu beat him to the punch on the feet. Cruz couldn't seem to take him down either.

I'd like to see him avenge the loss to Shelton Graves next since Graves has a few decent wins under his belt lately.

Allen Crowder back to winning ways with a finish of Keith Bell, now 6-2. I still think Crowder can do something so hope he keeps picking up wins.

Tony Sylvester makes his triumphant return to MMA on June 11th at Caged Madness 43 in Ohio against Tony Parker. Sylvester is best known for competing in the legendary YAMMA Pit Fighting tournament, losing to Chris Tuchscherer in the first round. In his last fight in 2009, he was choked out by Overeem at a small event in the Netherlands. Despite this, he carried a decent 11-3 record. At 38, I don't expect him to make waves, but there's a lot of older opponents from that area that he would be a solid opponent for.

Looks like anderson 'braddock' silva is making his mma debut on the m'pumbu-stojnic card.
