But of course...Asians are fond of whites. Both women and men...Can I still visit asian city to get some Chinese food?

You're a johnny-come-lately standing on shoulders. I don't care what you think. So no humility it is....
They seemed to question it's legitimacy enough to discover it's bullshit, no?
This is where we gotta part ways. Do you honestly think enormously complicated racial history of this country didn't impact the opportunities available to people? You talk about "privilege" like it doesn't exist, yet I've literally experienced getting a job over someone equally qualified simply because I was white and, according to who hired me, "I've found them harder to deal with".
So if you're gonna pretend it's a made up issue I'm gonna disagree with you completely. The answer definitely isn't running 100 miles in the other direction, but to suggest there's a perfect racial balance of opportunity in this country is bullshit.
Who here said "good, it's ok to exclude races"? Point them out, shame them for specifically what they've said. Don't celebrate after you fell for bullshit because they fell for it to. Only one side of this coin WANTED to believe it....
Indeed, and you specifically win the thread. Nevertheless, it isn't my job to check, and I'm not rejoining Facebook to undertake the journalist's task.
Now it is easily dismissed. What isn't so easily dismissed? That people who aren't journalists are expected to vet journalism? No. That those who didn't check would get such a basic question of ethical civics wrong...now that is concerning.
Perhaps, except that the notion of a confirmation bias as the underlying subconscious force is clearly refuted by the nature of this very thread. If someone sees something even vaguely news like, they'll believe it, specifically if it confirms some pre-existing narrative. This is accompanied by a resistance to information that would contradict that same narrative. Check out the thread where Goonerview refuses to accept that hundreds of thousands of muslims served for Britain in the great wars for an example of this. I think it's actually a fairly big problem. You can't have a dialogue on this basis. Even if you find Fawlty's reaction reprehensible, he strikes me as someone with whom dialogue on the issue is possible.
I'm not sure what I'm asking for here. I don't think it's reasonable for everyone to fact check everything they encounter. But I don't see why people are so passionate about things that they haven't fact checked. Why must we dive right in? I fucking hate when I catch myself doing it.
Yeah, I'm not seeing a lot of people in here calling for the death of whitey or saying "no whites allowed" is good in any way. I'm seeing a push-back against the notion that any drive for equality, or attempt to close the racial gap in this country, is inherently racist.
It's not, but a generation of white kids who watched kids of color be told to celebrate their heritage, while we struggled to find culture in our own, are feeling left out and want attention.
Sadly they've gone about it in the worst ways imaginable, and the result has been things like Donald Trump becoming president.
Come on 'mick, you fell for bullshit. Exercise some humility. If you wanna talk about things that were exposed, wouldn't your eagerness to believe this be one of the things we can say was exposed here?
So some students from University of Texas = the entire left?
Is it cool if I go grab some images from a KKK rally and start calling you all nazis? Or does mass assumption of people's feelings and beliefs only work for you guys?
If it bothers you, ignore it. Do you go to that university? Is anyone preventing you from having things you want because of your skin color? No. So if it bothers you, ignore it. The end.
LOL, oh shit, I missed that. I didn't realize he was yet another poster from the first page who also bought it. Why sort of tool would try to play the wise incredulous skeptic after the fact?Could you be any more hypocritical? Your first post in this thread didn't exactly smack of fact-checking and then you went on to downplay the publication too.
Here's your first post:
Separate issues. Now that this appears to be some nonsense cooked up by a liar (an idea which you support- LOL don't you ever dare lecture anybody about ethics ever again), we can go back to the beginning and pretend that we know it's real....
Not only did you accept it at face value, but you downplayed it sarcastically.
Perhaps, except that the notion of a confirmation bias as the underlying subconscious force is clearly refuted by the nature of this very thread.
Because it landed on both aisles. How do you mean?
Because it landed on both aisles.
You're after the dynamics of conformist thought. On the one hand, with several different press outlets carrying it, whose job it is to vet stories, and on the other, that the first wave of posters who came in accepted this as sufficient in addition to finding it credible (which it is, entirely, rooted in massive recent precedent such as the very explicit example of Evergreen that I already cited).I see. But perhaps it just hit both sides in different, complementary ways. Liberals thought ''yeah, they probably did do that shit, *damage control intensifies*.'' Conservatives and others thought ''SEE, I FUCKIN TOLD YOU.''
You're a johnny-come-lately standing on shoulders. I don't care what you think

I also don't care what your opinions on "privilege" are.
I pointed out that among those who found the story credible...only those on the left fell in to accepting that this was somehow okay. The left alone bears this thread's deepest bruise.
LOL, oh shit, I missed that. I didn't realize he was yet another poster from the first page who also bought it. Why sort of tool would try to play the wise incredulous skeptic after the fact?
Show me all this hatred for the white man around here. Go for it. As a 30 something straight white male, I must say, life is fucking great, and no one has made me feel shame for being that way. Not in reality, and definitely not here. So where is this?
No, you don't think you have one because you see other races connect their ethnicity to their culture, but our ethnicity is nothing but American at this point. Mexicans have mexican culture, blacks have African culture, but mixed up europeans who aren't even sure what they are, don't know what their culture is. We know we're Americans, but we're still in the middle of defining what that actually is. This would be innocent and natural if the history of America wasn't littered with oppression and conquest. But as it stands we're a giant over-grown baby who still doesn't know what it is.
Correct, Trump won because he wasn't a woman and completely lied to his base about a giant wall.
This thread and your post is an example. Any thread about white privilege, immigration, posts about preservation of white majority countries brings out the hate. It can't be denied. You will of course because anyone that posts garbage like "we're a giant over-grown baby" is bound to do so.
Your life sounds pretty shitty to me. Would not want to be you and this is why:

even if you do go into sketchy areas or what you think is a sketchy area the likely hood you will be a victim is still pretty low unless you are looking for trouble or engaged in drugs. This reminds me of when people cry outrage on all these thugs and gang bangers but are never in a part of town where they ever experience or have to deal any of that in their day to day.
Really, dude, spare me. Can it. Save it for the mirror.
Who's shoulders 'mick? If you didn't care what I think, you wouldn't have to say those words. You know how that works.
A lot of words about my opinion from someone who doesn't care about it....
Point out who was accepting that it was ok and tell me if you can differentiate those who were responding to the gross over-reaction, Please, point them out for me so I can tell going forward. Maybe I'm actually missing something and you can help, so go for it.
I didn't reply on the first page 'mick, I replied a page ago, and my reply wasn't justifying it at all. It was criticizing the continued practice of blaming 50% of the country for things done by individuals and tiny groups. Nothing in my criticisms even hinged on this being true or not, because I was criticizing the reaction to it.
The fact that you reacted the way you did to bullshit only gives my criticism more potency. So laugh all you want. The only one who truly fell for bullshit because it conformed to their beliefs, was you.
I'm going to be racists towards white people and then when any white person says something, I'm going to call them whinny white hoes. LOL
Yeah we know you support discrimination against white people.
Seems to me it exposed the Right's hypocrisy in regards to the 1st Amendment and the Constitution in general if anything. I've constantly seen posters on here defend "Hate Speech" based on it being Free Speech that's protected by the Constitution and that any restriction on that is blasphemy, yet for some reason some in here feel that this Magazine shouldn't be allowed. My Facebook isn't active, so I didn't follow any FB links. I looked at the planned event with a Google Map marking, and I obviously couldn't attend (even if retroactively possible). There were images of the postboard flyer (the one the university reported they took down).
If this is indeed a right-wing troll job...what a thing of beauty.

Look at how it exposed the liberals ITT who demonstrated their willingness to abide the herd mentality: that presuming the university allowed this they were willing and eager to dismiss it as "inconsequential" and not reflexively racist.
Fucking encore. Please.
Really, dude, spare me. Can it. Save it for the mirror.
Prokof has bragging rights. You're just another sucker. Only difference is that you got suckered twice.
When all you're doing during a discussion is essentially going "everyone is being mean to me!!" without explaining how, providing specific examples of it or justifying the hypocrisy of playing victim while whining about an entire generation doing the same..... people are gonna call you a baby. It doesn't require hate to do so, just observational skills.
Back up something you say, directly answer questions that are asked, and people might do something other than roll their eyes at you and brush you off. Especially when you're talking about the "preservation of your race" in a thread that really hasn't been about that at all.
No, I really, really don't LOL. Tell me more about all this mean spirited hate and bigotry you're a victim of....

First, this is a strawman. Second, strict precepts and boundaries of 1st Amendment rights weren't the focus.Seems to me it exposed the Right's hypocrisy in regards to the 1st Amendment and the Constitution in general if anything. I've constantly seen posters on here defend "Hate Speech" based on it being Free Speech that's protected by the Constitution and that any restriction on that is blasphemy, yet for some reason some in here feel that this Magazine shouldn't be allowed.
