I would say that it is likely that some of the casualties were Ukrainian. I would also say that, at this point, we don't even have a reliable read on the number of casualties let alone their nationality.

I believe that when you take up arms against your nation and call for foreign troops to annex your region that you cease to be a non-combatant. Thus, the casualties were no longer merely civilians.

I feel there is something personal about it))) I've asked TKO about the proof that they were locals and he didn't provide it, so I gave my opinion about it the way I see. At least I can see some logic in my explanation why russian propaganda haven't showed us the dead bodies of the locals.
