Umar is fighting injured?

Yes, Dana said merab came in and asked for this fight, and then it was made. They didn't make merab do it the way you seem to be suggesting

yes, merab made it happen dana himself literally said Merab showed up to HQ and demanded the fight . said he wanted to fight before may next year so he didn't want to wait til after ramadan. the only way to get it booked before then was for january
<lol><lol>Dana said it so it must be true. Jesus Christ.
Hear it from Merab himself who said the UFC told him to take the fight and he stepped up.
The fact you believe fucking Dana White's story is hilarious.

Everyone fights injured
This is more true than everyone is on the sauce

Sounds like built-in excuses in case merab gets it done...

Kinda like when islam pulled out against RDA , claiming he was sick in camp several weeks before...but really was just having a shitty weight cut and scared he was gunna gas or fade against him.. in his biggest fight to that date and 5 rounder..
He was asked a question and he answered.

Listen to what he said. Before even going into Dana's office, Merab heard that the UFC were looking for a co-main in January. A co main in January is what the UFC wanted. So Merab, of his own free will, went in and volunteered his services to fight umar in January. He gave the UFC what they wanted by giving them a co main in january. He gave the fans what they wanted by fighting umar. Merab did all of this of his own free will.

I don't understand how you're confused.

That's nothing new. Renato Moicano entered the ring with a visible bump on his shoulder that led to a defeat in the 2nd round against Aldo IIRC and, of course, Tito fought with a cracked skull according to Tito.

Don’t forget, Conor Mcgregors foot was balloon, in all his losses.

The most recent and glaring one would be TJ fighting Aljo with one shoulder.

Nice fanfiction but that's not what he said, lmao. He wanted to take 6 months off, UFC said get ready for Jan and Merab had to accept.
I don't understand why you can't get it. You can like Merab but its bizarre to deny that this dude did not want the Umar fight and was pushed by the UFC to accept it and he did and he is not happy about it, just like a lot of fighters do.

He was strong armed by UFC, that's it.

Yeah, that is not what he said at all. You literally have a video. You're twisting his words to best match your opinion. Anyways, I agree that merab didn't want to fight umar at one point, but not for reasons merab critics think. Regardless, Merab's unwillingness to fight umar changed when, according to merab and dana, merab heard ufc needed a co-main, then he went in and made it happen.

That video is a clickbait title. The title suggests that Aljo cried merab was forced to fight Umar, yet nowhere in the video did Aljo actually say that merab was forced to fight umar. And 90 percent of that video was about Sandhagen accepting to fight Umar, not Merab/umar. The rest was Joey, who much like a lot of sherbros on here, are completely putting words into merab's mouth and intentionally misinterpreting what he's saying and doing the most extreme mental gymnastics possible in order to paint merab in a bad light. That's probably why Joey is laughed at on social media and MMA circles as a biased dagestani fanboy.

Says who? certainly not any actual sources from the videos in this thread, that's for sure.

both statements can be true i dont think the UFC FORCED him to take a fight on a 4 month turn around and if they did, you'd know that'd be fixing the fight for umar more or less right? I already know that you do not care if the fight would be fixed, as long as your guy wins (he wont anyways)

All these guys suggesting Merab was strongarmed really need to explain how, since, you know, none of the sources they've shared suggest that even happened. There's no details on it, so I really need clarity into how these guys imagine the situation. Do they think UFC threatened to strip a champ if he didn't defend within 4 months of winning his belt? do they think they offered Merab a huge check that he couldn't refuse? how did this imaginary strongarming go down?

Seems like a lot of jumps of logic need to be made in this scenario. I guess that's easier for some people than believing Merab.

If you really believe that Dana White story that Merab just stormed his office in the middle of the night to demand to fight Umar, I have a bridge to sell you.

Merab will lose against this dude that is injured <GrassoBless>

Bud, you'd have all the bridges in the world to sell after listening to that MMAjoey video that you tried to pass off as a source LOL. You, much like MMAjoey, would rather completely make things up and put words in Merab's mouth rather than entertain the possibility that maybe, just maybe, it went down more like how Merab and dana suggested.

Either way, everyone with your opinion has had zero actual sources to back it up -- just horrible misinterpretations and conjectures.

I am not talking about MMA joey anymore, I don't listen to him in general or anyone of his kind, nice try. And I barely listen to american mma media. But I have listened to Aljo enough on his own to know that he and merab are just cry babies.

Okay, I'll meet you half way. What you are suggesting is a possibility. I just haven't seen or heard enough from sources involved in the fight making decision process to suggest that it's a likely possibility.

We can agree to disagree.
