International UK Prime Minister declares his support of cousin marriage

I agree that secular humanism is a huge part if this but The Pope and the RCs are also playing their part in building Chrislam ecumenical insanity in the West.

The Pope is a problem and a hypocrite because he wants open borders for western countries but not the Vatican.

You read Vatican II? Nostra Aetate promotes interreligious prayer. Roman Catholicism is part of the problem.

No worse than when the nation opened their arms to ingesting halal meat and turning our churches into mosques.

Stop whining.

Make sure I have this right:

It's always been legal to marry your cousin in England (look at the royals), but not changing the law (that has always been in place) is somehow pandering to a group that have only recently arrived in the UK?
Up there with the stupidest Liberal American comment on European matters that I've ever seen on here.

Literally every part is just idiocy. You do realise that the capital of England is 38% white? Do you think that happened 'recently'?

When did you pass this law allowing cousins to marry?

In context, I'd say yes; that happened recently.

There's a push to introduce it now because Britain's National Health Service (NHS) published stats showing cousin marriages account for 33% of birth defects in the UK - thus costing taxpayers billions each year and draining services.

The fact that the Royal Family - one family - have married distant cousins centuries ago doesn't then justify millions inbreeding with cousins in 2025.

Probably because up until relatively recently there wasn't enough of these marriages to cause a significant problem. I wonder why that was?

So you're upset that Muslims practice the same thing England has/did for centuries. Got it.

Odd that you guys don't ban homosexual relationships - they have a much higher rate of health risks

Could be, or it could be a way to make the immigrants feel unwelcome. What are the birth defects rat3s there anyhow?

But my understanding - from the left - is that marriage isn't about creating offspring so it seems an odd stance.

Why would it make them feel unwlecome? That would only make sense if you recognise immigrants from certain parts disproportionately practice cousin marriage

Marrying cousins is not British culture.

It’s to prevent inbred offspring
With Marriages usually children follow. It should be illegal. That is not fair to the person being born nor the people who will need to suffer them.
What if they're gay or infertile cousins? And how far does this go? Should ethnicities at risk for recessive diseases be barred or otherwise have their marriages regulated?

If you have a weird custom/religious rite of marrying your cousin from the same village then you would feel ostracized by the law

I don't know why they do it,but its a fact that certain groups are big on it.

Oh no?:

In the UK of 1700, first cousin marriages were relatively common, especially among the upper classes, with many people marrying within their extended family networks due to social and economic pressures, making it a fairly frequent occurrence, though exact statistics are difficult to determine; however, it was not as widespread as in some other European regions at the time.
