Rubbish. I love mma as much as the next guy, but Tv rights for the english premiership alone broadcast it to nearly a billion viewers in over 200 countries across the world.

People in countries as small as Ethiopia, Malaysia etc. are crazy about football, buy club kits, know the player names, and watch the games. And that's the English premiership alone, ignoring the fact that almost every country in the world has their own multi-league structure.

The AVERAGE wage in the premiership is over a million pounds, and clubs will trade top players for 50 million pounds or more.

Football is the biggest sport on the planet, no question, and is only getting bigger.

Oh yeah, the Sun is horriffic too. I think I dislike the Mail more because at least the Sun doesn't take itself too seriously whereas the Mail seems to pretend to be a proper paper.

No, id personally rate the DM as much worse.

Atleast when you read the sun, you know what you are getting, its all a nlbit tongue in cheek.

The DM hides poorly written articles and xenophobic agendas amongst pseudo intellectual articles about Russian Oligarchs, politcial rubbish and scientific nonsense.
 
The mail is definitely the worst paper this side of the pond, hasn't got shit on the likes of bill o'reilly on fox news though, that is just pure insanity how its even on TV I don't know. Yet is nice to see they have written an article on MMA without condemning immigrants.

i actually did lol at your original post dude....Seriously though,i don't think mma will ever be that popular in the uk,the only sport thats big in the states that may get a lot bigger than it is at the moment in the uk is basketball,i see mma staying roughly the same as it is currently in terms of popularity.
 
I used to live in the UK a few years ago (wasn't really into MMA at the time though) and I have to wonder how local shows like CWFC, BAMMA and UCMMA have been received in England. Or did the end of cage rage kind of damage English MMA. BTW pulling for a comeback by France in the six nations

BAMMA is pretty well respected in the UK as far as i've seen.

People who read the Sun are generally harmless dim-wits, people who read teh Daily Mail should be grown up enough to know better.

It's not like Cage Rage was a popular thing or anything, it's just they had a much higher calibre of fighter passing through than you'd get at UK shows now because there wasn't a UFC monopoly on mma like there is now.

Obviously the nation rallied behind Dave Legano, but that's another story.
 
The daily mail is probably the only newspaper critical about the EU and other issues the rest of the subordinate media will not touch. One look at the journalists union already shows what a bunch of slavish idiots run the rest of the press.

A lot fans treat BAMMA as a joke , they never announce fights til a few weeks before the event , there are many rumours about them not paying fighters .

It's a shame BAMMA got on Channel 5 when Cage Warriors and UCMMA are much more deserving .

I don't hate BAMMA they could have been something yet the squander it all with bad PR and a general "don't-give-a-shit-about-the-fans" attitude .

Well i know for a fact they treat fighters well, but yer it has nothing on the UFC

(edit, i should say i know that they treat SOME fighters well, as i cant talk for everyone who has been on their show)

That and they consistently have the worst presentation I've ever seen. I'm sure one of their cards averaged about 1 fight every 50 minutes or so.

Plus this genius playing with his phone during all the fights.
