International UK Government unveils plans to force pubs to close early

Why?

I read the the PM is trying to ban smoking in beer gardens. I understand banning it indoors, but have designated smoking tables in beer gardens?

Banning smoking in public and having people smoke at home is not problem, you can even just allow stores to keep selling it.

The problem with smoking is that people are harming others, let them harm themselves if they want to. I'm not talking about an outright ban so your examples aren't really that relevant.

What I questioned was your problem with pubs closing at midnight.

In the post where I quoted you and somebody else I kinda answered that question to you in the part where I quoted him. I didn't realize a lot of pubs are residential areas, so I think it does make sense to close them at midnight or even 11pm.

I was thinking more about bars in the areas of a city, so midnight sounded crazy early for them to close.

I mean I wasn't happy in 2004 when indoor smoking was banned but adapted in the winter with outdoor heaters etc so it wasn't horrendous. There's just something about a glass of wine in a pub garden that goes hand in hand with a cigarette. So long as the smell doesn't travel to outdoor spaces that are non smoking areas outside I don't see the issue. Best of both worlds.
From last stuff...we had separate indoor rooms. Outdoor: label please don't smoke while in reality no one cared.
BTW we had almost 0 real profit from tobacco sales, still for shake of peace had lic and permit and sold something...otherwise smokers might had opted to rest in other " place ".
Not U.K and still most likely life is the same.

Did you had attempted to work in pub till midnight and then to go on the street?
Don't you think that for government and businesses better might be to allow pubs to operate even 24/7 and this might be more comfortable also for perssonnel?
For example to go after shift on the street 8 A.M rather than in midnight on daTechStreet where a lot of specimens does have party and fun?
BTW don't advise to use car and then everything will be real happiness. You should get till car and drive car late night after shift worked...real fun.

I don't think I could ever travel to DT Vegas again being their smoke extractors affected me even when I was a pretty heavy smoker. Even last year in the hotels on The Strip I struggled a bit.

But bringing it full circle, bars in Vegas being 24/7 could you imagine if anyone tried to tell them they have to close early every night?

What is daTechStreet?

Staggered closing worked in towns like where I lived in Basingstoke. On a Friday night there were a ton less fights when everyone was booted out at 11.

Real life and I don't talk there just about possible fights. Actually when I had lived in really criminal hole I had 0 problems in this area ... I mean close to " home "....

Relatively big problem in late evenings are drunk drivers, peasants etc....if compare with early morning like 8 A.M
To get in car accident isn't fun even if you aren't guilty and aren't damaged. If to add here that you maybe will drive car after hard shift.....

- So the UK wil riot now?
And if they ban soccer?

They want to ban smoking outside, and reduce pints to 2/3rd pints too. This Labour goverment is comically obnoxious.

Edit: not a pub one, but they also want to install a tracker in every car and start taxing people per mile driven at some point, as well as raise fuel taxes next month.

It doesn't sound like you have involvement or experience with English pubs?

Didn't know about cars.

Did the previous PM lose because he floated national conscription?

They already close at midnight? Damn that's kinda fucked.

Pubs, yeah. Pubs are very different to bars, in the UK - bars can stay open til 6am if they have the right licence. Some nightclubs are more or less open 24hrs give or take a few hours. I really don't see this sticking, though. A lot of people have had enough of small pleasures being stripped away incrementally and with the country struggling financially they need all the pounds into the economy they can get.

Andrew Gwynne, a typically overweight 'Health' Minister, has today unveiled plans to force UK pubs to close early. British pubs typically open until midnight.

What could possibly be fuelling a decision that'll undoubtedly be a major hammer blow to UK pubs?

And retards like Starmer thought the Stockport Riots were bad? Just wait until they try to restrict Brit's drinking! They'll nail him to a burning cross in the rubble of Westminster! 😈

Aren't you forgetting the tories proposed banning people from buying smokes altogether?
