Re: Jason/Bermudez, Ponz/Cummings, Leites/Camozzi
Rony Jason is on paper a bad match up for Bermudez. He's a guy that is wild with his striking because he doesn't mind getting taken down so he throws to finish with the flying knees etc, welcoming people into his guard.
Not to say Bermudez shouldn't be a favorite here, guard players like Jason should rarely be favorites being that they accept bottom.
Bermudez has good leg kicks and hard strikes but something about the dynamics of this fight has trap written over it.
My prediction is Bermudez chips away with leg kicks and hard strikes and/or grinds Rony in his guard for a decision, or Rony snatches up a submission in his guard.
Leites has a similar reach to his southpaw counterpart. He's also big on right hands so if he's able to get his positioning right I think he can possibly win a striking battle with Camozzi and if he finds success he could drag Chris to the floor. They're both also very willing clinchers when not in range. Advantage goes to Leites in this fight and he's approaching playable territory for me. I think you could take Camozzi in this spot if his odds for his decision line was +260 and more and I'd play.
Ponz/Cummins is a tricky one. I think the fight stays standing more often than not. Cummings is more of a front-head-lock type wrestler in that he doesn't really shoot for a lot of traditional TDs. He's got a couple smooth trip entrys though if he really needs to get it to the floor. Besides the fact, Ponz is a BJJ black belt and a decent wrestler himself he can handle himself well on the ground here. Cummins is actually a pretty underrated southpaw and he understands the nuances of being a lefty. I expect Ponz to proceed to not give a fuck and get Zak's face and make him trade with him. I don't know who I'll end up picking but like the match up as a fan, hate it as a capper.
