News UFC Signs 7-Year, $7.7 Billion Dollar Deal for All US Rights to UFC's Product - PPV Model is Done with Events on CBS. (Details Inside)

Joking aside, I stopped buying PPVs when they jumped to 64.99 for the Anderson Silva vs Weidman rematch on the principle that the product simply was not worth the price they charged.

If this actually plays out that the "ppv" cards are included within a reasonable subscription price, then I may return to the base of people paying actual money to the UFC

I'll reserve judgement for:

- fine print
(Is it some sort of paramount ++×÷ type of thing with extra charges or is it in the base paramount package?)

- will they reinvest in the business now that they appear primed to again reach record profit?

- will the fighters thrive in this model?

Is there something to compensate for lack of PPV points which was the real pot of gold at the end of a CTE ridden rainbow.

- how will this play into what has recently seemed to be a quantity over quality type of business model?

UFC with a guaranteed pay from ESPN was the reason we got APEX cards , I HOPE paramount was smart enough to negotiate some sort of incentive based contract that will give UFC a reason to want to put out the best product and draw the biggest amount of viewership, and use some of that money to seek out and sign the best talent. Fingers crossed but appropriately skeptical based on 20 years experience following this company

This is a UFC thread, but did WWE still had PPV in the US? I was under the impression they ditched that model years ago, and now everything is on Netflix, at least since im in Mexico i belive everything WWE is on it, what was on PPV?

Now when they fight in California you will know the actual purse, only they know the actual pay changes.

WWE had their PLE/PPV model on Peacock with their TV rights spread across Netflix (RAW), USA (Smackdown) and CW (NXT). All of it was free if you had access to those channels/streaming platforms. I believe ESPN gave them a 40% rights increase for the PLE/PPVs just like Netflix gave them for RAW.

You cheap cans who cried for years can now get access to UFC's PPVs for the starting price point of $7.99.

If any of you cans have complaints about this, you're basically a woman, lol.

They're even putting events on CBS. What a time to be alive!
Don't embarrass women by comparing them to these losers

Your right I should have adopted my employees work performance experience

Sandwich the negative between two positives.

We can review at the end of 2027 how it plays out but yes it is exciting

Hey Vanessa, looking good today!!

You are fired, but hey that dress really works for you.

If they're on CBS can you still watch them online?
Does it matter if P+ is popular? I don't understand this gripe. What about it is bad for the UFC? They just got $1.1 billion a year. MLB only gets $1.5.

Big events will be on CBS. P+ is cheaper than ESPN+. It's $7.99. There's no more $80 PPVs. I think at this point, you guys just like to cry about things, lol.

Great news, as someone who had no problem paying for PPVs, I will just spend that same money on snacks and beers for my friends.

This is end of the sport as we know it, I felt like being a UFC fan was an exclusive club of well to do hardcore Martial Artist and wannabe’s who could throw $80 at a PPV completely on a whim.

UFC will now become a sports that any a$$clown can watch, I’m so out.

on a post strike until after I’m done mourning the loss , I’m completely melteded and shookering.

If they provide a good service for a reasonable price, I will happily pay it.

If they try some angle like you need to pay for the premium tier service AND then $20 to access the UFC content, I will stream away.

Nope. No tiers. The news just gets better and better.

I already have Paramount, now I'm waiting to see if and how much they increase the annual rates once the deal starts? I'm expecting it to go up each year, I guess as long as it doesn't get nuts its fine since I watch about 6-8 PPVs a year. I just hope they don't bring back PPVs after 2 years of not getting the results they want.

Numbered events on CBS. No tiered cost for PPVs. $7.99 access point. Even if the cost goes up a bit, it's still an incredible deal when you consider the heavy burden of cost you used to have to be an active MMA fan.

I know there's logistics to work out for fighters, which is incredibly important, but again, as a consumer, I'm shocked by how positive the news is that continues to trickle out.

MMA fans have gotten screwed over by Dana/Zuffa/TKO/UMG/ESPN for decades. We finally got a fucking win. Couldn't be happier about it right now.

Hell yeah huge deal for the sport and makes it much easier to watch for most consumers.

I do wonder what this means for bars and getting fight nights. One thing that was nice about the ESPN deal is you could go out and watch UFC fights in a lot of places because everyone has ESPN. It was constantly on TV. Numbered Cards on CBS is huge though. They could break the 5 million Elite XC record lol.

How so? ESPN+ was a subscription service, just as Paramount+ is, but one is now including everything UFC while the other you still had to pay $80 for the PPV card, whats the issue for the fans?

Because paramount just shows old shitty movies and TV shows. No one watches it for UFC or sports. It's like UFC signing with Nick at Night
