UFC releases Yushin Okami

Fighters need a union plain and simple. Dana just does what he wants, he plays favoritism, criticizes fighters for grappling in an mma bout and is not consistent with his decisions.
Dana has done a hell of job up until now, but starting to think he is not the one to take the sport to the next level. I just can't take him serious anymore.
Cutting okami is not going to stop "boring" fights, tweaking the rules and scoring structure will.
 
The UFC is just like any other billion dollar corporation, they pink slip those that make a decent amount of money and replace them with people that will earn a lot less. All they want to do is load there pockets with more and more money and couldn't give a rats ass what happens to those they let go. Typical millionaire's just looking to get richer.

It's pretty obvious why dude got cut, he's not that exciting and doesn't bring in any numbers and there are way to many fighters on the roster as is, so they felt they should just get rid of him. But at least Shlemenko has a new contender for his title now.

What do you mean over the top? So, Records should no longer matter? Rankings should no longer matter? The worst cut ever- no justification at all for this cut. The UFC should just rename itself the Ultimate Entertainment Championship. You keep guys like Garcia, Akiyama and Hardy around, along with guys like Leben (who makes more show money than Okami) and has looked terrible losing three fights in a row, 4 out of last 5, but cut a top ten fighter like Okami, who had won three fights in a row against tough opponents, and one loss to Jacare means a cut (SMH).

Absolutely ridiculous move. F*** Dana and the UFC, because Okami did not deserve this. Criticize me all you want- but no Sherdogger can justify this move to me. I guess it is all about Entertainment, since records mean shit. 3-1 in his last 4 fights, and one loss against a beast in Jacare means a cut (SMH). No justifcation for this move. The UFC is about Entertainment first and foremost. Sad day for the real MMA fans who love the sport of MMA and all of its aspects that blood thirsty fans hate (i.e. Grappling/Wrestling, etc.). The people applauding this move are not real MMA fans, and should make the move over to Boxing. Okami excelled in the sport of MMA, was a legitimate top ten MW, performed well in his craft, has put on some great fights over his career, and deserved better.
 
One of the most boring fighters in the history of the sport (way worse than Fitch). It's probably unfair, but I don't care in the slightest that he's cut. Plus he should have lost to Lombard by forfeit the way he refused to fight in the last round.
 
Just like Jon Fitch no one will give a crap about this cut in a few weeks. The phoney outrage on Sherdog is hilarious to watch though.

He's won a lot of fights, but he's pretty iffy in the big ones. He beat Lombard, Munoz, Marquardt and Belcher, but he got embarassed by Anderson, and lost to Chael, Boetsch, Jacare and Franklin.

best case scenario is we see him in KSW and find out how good Khalidov really is
 
i have nothing against yushin, but im not surprised at the cut tbh. the ufc

Haha, you can always rely on Sherdog catching a semi-mistake and miss the relevant part. How is Amir "Have you seen his last two fights" Sadollah still there while top 5 guys get cut? That should disturb anyone who wants MMA to be taken as a legit and serious sport.

Stop. 3-3 in his last six. Don't play the numbers game. The UFC does it for business but why are you doing it? Also, his fight against Lombard was not a quality W, as is the case often when this guy fights. I remember when Dana was excited about him coming over, and when I started watching his fights, I tried to be on board, but it didn't take too long before I realized... do not want. And his choke against Boetch inflicted the Barbarian on us a little too much in contender type fights where he pulled his whole, I'm going to disengage and touch your leg with my foot and run my ass off with his name actually mentioned as a possible title challenger. People seem to forget the circumstances of fights and give way too much credit just because you come away with a shitty split decision points-fighting win. Yuck.
 
I'm sorry but what Okami fights were you people watching?

His wins were absolute snoozers, his losses were exciting because it was people beating him in convincing fashion

His chins been going, unless you have missed the third round of his most recent decisions where he'd get caught off the first flurry the guy through to make up for being down two rounds
