Shit main event. Terrible card. Will definitely skip this one.
I understand that your a casual and probably watch ufc about a year in a half ago, but all I gotta say is, do not skip the co main event. Zaleski vs Li Jingliang is a must see. Both guys comes to put on a war every time they step in the fkin cage. But u can skip it if u want tho since your a casual and only like to watch Conor and Jon Jones.

just seems to me, if you have any sort of ambition - especially at womens 115 which is a pretty open division, anyone is 3 wins from a potential title shot - then you watch other fights in the division. But to not even know what style a fighter in the top ten has, that means she has never watched her fight, hell, shes not even watched highlights.

That to me says she has a total lack of ambition (and is content to alternate wins and losses)

If im at 115, and i have ambition to do well in the division, rise up the rankings, maybe one day get a title shot, you can be sure as hell im watching every fight involving other 115'ers because they could be my next opponent.
I was thinking this too, no wonder Markos is up and down with her career such lack of desire to stay current. I don't expect her to see everyone in the UFC sw division at all times but she should know a bit about all the top 20ish girls she could potentially fight.

My quicke follow-on.

For Joanna to profit, not just bang away at the same ole, same ole despite respite break, she needs new coaching talent. The warning sign was the decision loss to Rose. Not for lack of effort or drive. This is one of the foundation myths of sport fighters... the JUST DO IT!. That's a 50-50 proposition @ best. Skill is what carries the day. Martial wise. There is nothing to be lost, and perhaps significant benefit to be gained by seeking out higher level training. Take her striking base to a notch up in level. Dedicated Muay Thai coach or camp could be that ticket.*

As discussed before, watch the weight cutting make as scientific as possible. Watch out for the UFC promotional demands... they are a killer all on their own.<codychoke>

EDIT: *Or, Professional kick boxing? Which starts with what?

What's interesting to me is she went back to Hoost for 5 hard weeks of training after her loss to Valentina. I think she wanted a no bullshit assessment and knew Hoost would give it to her. Plus he can give her coaching that nobody at ATT can.

I'm surprised she went back to ATT at all after that to be honest. They have dedicated coaches. Some of the new Brazilian coaches both Boxing and MT specialists seem to be really good. I just don't like her main striking coach. Guy seems to be a fake and seems to be coaching her terribly. Basically best case scenarios where opponent is standing mostly static in front of her and/or hurt.

I hope that's not the normal training cause none of her opponents have behaved that way in like 4+ years. Plus it's in brawling range where she hasn't done well again in over 4+ years. She doesn't appear to have any brawling skills and gets tuned up in that range all the time even by middling fighters.

I guess we will see what happens but I agree. She needs better coaching or coaches that actually give a shit.

Alexa Grasso may have had a lot to do with that.

damn I would have never expected to see someone that busted up in a 115 WMMA fight.

Omg the poll is 50/50

Wow I've never seen that chinese fighter, but I've seen Andrade so I want to see how good that chinese fighter is.

This how Andrade's last opponents ended up, she's scary in that division.

I'm really not that impressed with Weili at all, Andrade should smoke her but the fight taking place in China is a big x factor for me

if nothing else you are watching all the other strawweights to get an idea of who you can beat or who has weaknesses, so when it comes to callouts or talking to Shelby you are giving yourself the best possible opportunity to pick up a win.

How are you even accepting fights against people without at least having some background on them.

Wow, 78-78 even. I didn't expect it to be that close.

Chael says he'll be "stunned" if we don't get a new champion.

I'd be surprised if Jessica Andrade beat Zhang Weili in China - Chael Sonnen | Ariel & the Bad Guy

^ don't agree, I think Zhang's a horrible matchup for Andrade. She's just like Joana contender but with more horsepower. Zhang looking extra thicc for this fight too. I think she takes it.

She's not like Joanna, her Boxing is a bit crude, and that is usually a crucial tool against Andrade. We'll see if her kicks can make up for it, but they may expose her to the take down .
