I heard that if you watch it with danish commentary, in black and white, at night between 1 and 3 am when you're completely alone in your house, the fight will end with Conor knocking Khabib out with a spinning wheel kick

She didn't earn her way there sir, and Dana got rid of Jimmy Smith because Dana said he wanted UFC fighters only.

Jimmy had 25+ fights and has as much knowledge as anyone, she somehow got the position being 1-0 and never fought in the UFC.

Id say that's a good start tbf sir.

I don't know if my brain is different than everyone else that complains about commentary, but when I watch something my analysis + thoughts stay constant while the commentators are just like someone with a different opinion in the room. So to me going without commentary doesn't change my perception. I'll internally reject/approve what commentators say depending on my own thoughts. I guess some people just shape their opinions from what they hear.

Oh, well yeah, I'd take Jimmy Smith over pretty much anyone...
But Sanko's breaking-down in techniques is so much better and so much calmer and more articulate than any of the other former fighters (or Rogan, who's the absolute worst everything ever).

What do you mean though by not earning her way there? What's the normal process?

I mean what Dana did to fire Jimmy Smith for whatever reason, doesnt have anything to do with Laura Sanko tbh

She is a bit whatever to me. Im not big on female commenatators, but whatever reason Dana had to get rid of Smith is the past and not connected to anyone else.

Normal process is supposed be you being a former UFC fighter, which she is not sir.

He deserves to be there more than her, which was exactly my point.

She sucks, and you and everyone knows it.
She should've stayed on the contender series.

Shes ok. Just doesnt really add anything. Plus I dont wanna hear female voices talking when im watching fights.

If she has that job at 1-0 and never being in the UFC....then he deserves it more since he has a ton more fights and knowledge.

Dana changed the rules as he sees fit. Whatever happened with Smith yrs ago aint got shit to do with today. Stop living in the past, old man.

Losing Jimmy Smith is a BUMMER.
I even like Sean O'Connell more than any of the UFC's bum-ass commentators

Joe Rogan is grandfathered in to be fair.
Smith is a better person for the job tbh, he has way more experience and knowledge.

I think you'd feel slightly different if I took your job and I wasn't as qualified to do that job.

Rogans job is to bring entertainment, passion and excitement.

He has some relatively astute takes every now and then.

But that's not his job anymore.

He's the hype man. People can hate all they want, but what he does is invaluable when it comes to drawing in the general audience and casual observer.

They need someone who brings that hyperbole, who plays the relatable fool type character, but still understands the sport and can break it down.

DC is there to break things down in a purely technical way, without the hyperbole. That's what a balanced cast is, a balance of all elements.

At the end of the day, this is entertainment. The educated fans represent a very small minority, so theyre not the ones who will be tailored to.

This is where Rogan loses me...
He's a jiu-jitsu black belt and yet his breakdowns of jiu-jitsu techniques are absolutely terrible.
He's got enthusiasm for days and I know that's very important, but he was hired to be the color commentary guy (at least once upon a time) and when he talks about grappling, it's like he's never grappled a day in his life.
