I'm watching UFC 283 here and looking at the card thinking "what is this absolute garbage" it's a fight night card!!

I remember back in the day the UFCs being stacked head to toe of unbelievable fights, that's what brought them to the dance, that's why it became so popular. It was slowly catching Boxing up as the no1 combat sport.

They had 20 of the elite fighters in each division, the best vs the best, lose 3 and you're cut from the organisation. How could you not love that?

Now we have 88 active fighters in BW alone.. 80 in LW, MW. This is why years are going by and we're not seeing the best vs the best.

Whoever booked Andrade vs Murphy needs sacking. The most mismatched fight I've ever seen.

No, it just the card wasn't worth $80 and the two guys fighting shouldn't have fought for the belt.

Also Moreno and Figgy didn't deliver.

Moreno vs Figgy always delivers. The stoppage was gnarly and Moreno is the underdog dream. The first ever 4th fight as well which was awesome. My fav fight of the night.

Absolutely. The quality of the product has also gone downhill.

They no longer even openly try a to put the best product out… they just sign regional level guys to not only fill prelims anymore but main cards now.

"The quality of the product has also gone down hill."

Never stopped a drug addict sir lol.

No you're just older and stuck in the "back in my day" zone.

Most of the practical and pragmatic crowd understand that the product/quality of product is better now, especially for such a new sport like MMA.

The reality is, our preferences and priorities change with time. As you get older you stop being so closely aligned to a fighter/team due to outside responsibilities in life, and your interest can waiver at times. Then comes the - "it was way better before" because you enjoyed it more. It is natural.

You could even say the quality of the product has gone down Jamahall Hill.

People were saying this a decade ago and then Conor & Ronda came. All it takes is a couple more break out superstars again.

Dude would still be in the sand mines earning $8 a hour if it wasn’t for the UFC.
More like 8$ a day bruh.
And he didn't even train any combat sports when he lived in Cameroon. He signed with the UFC way after he migrated to France.

PS: In case you were just being sarcastic, fair enough, mb

UFC conned WME/ESPN/Disney, and now they're conning us by giving a watered down product. The biggest thing the current product lacks is prestige, a lot of veterans are retiring or being cut in favor of rookies who will fight for much less money. A lot of big names too are disappearing from the sport i.e. Conor, Khabib, etc. They're in a weird spot where there really aren't many true stars left and they're stuck trying to artificially create new ones, even to the point of fixing fights for them (Paddy, O'malley, etc)
